Halffull, I've posted on probably the religious equivalent of the Crevo threads in the religion forum - the dreaded Calvinism/Arminian threads; and, I don't think I have ever had abuse pushed on me there- and I did express my viewpoint quite strongly. Plain and simple, I am not a people attacker. I'll debate ideas quite aggressively, but for the most part I don't make it personal.

What I don't want on FR is this constant fighting and people insulting and attacking each other. It will never end, Jim. The devil will always attempt to belittle those who seek to follow God. Christians will always forget that God commanded them to Love one another and that they must forgive those that sin against them.
The passions on each side run too deeply.
There is a great book called "Siblings Without Rivalry". The main premise of the book is: the more you interfere, the stronger the rivalry becomes. Yes, the author says there are behavior limits, but banishment of family members is NOT one of the recommended punishments. It's a good read, and it may just help.

Ah, are these the "Christian" posters on FR?
To: gore3000
So how come it is only Christians that are banned and not atheists Jim?You need to step away from the keyboard NOW.
To: Jim Robinson
And, by the way, now that you've brought it up, we have thousands and thousands of Christians on this forum that are not constantly getting abuse reports racked up on their accountsAre abuse reports analyzed before they are put on someone's account? I think there are some that encourage others to press abuse on a certain person they don't like when they wouldn't normally do it. I could be wrong but I think some even stir the pot between two other posters so the abuse reports will rack up.

Yeah, right. I've instructed the moderators to only ban Christians. And we make them register their beliefs when they walk in the door. Guess you caught me.

Be Not Afraid: By U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas Again, by yielding to a false form of "civility," we sometimes allow our critics to intimidate us. As I have said, active citizens are often subjected to truly vile attacks; they are branded as mean-spirited, racist, Uncle Tom, homophobic, sexist, etc. To this we often respond (if not succumb), so as not to be constantly fighting, by trying to be tolerant and nonjudgmental-i.e., we censor ourselves. This is not civility. It is cowardice, or well-intentioned self-deception at best.

Exactly, Andrew.
To: AndrewC
We should not censor ourselves, but we should not respond to attackers either. There is another choice. We can just repeat the facts and explain the logic again perhaps in different words.

I am on many prayer threads and never have my prayers belittled.I have met Christians on many threads who are never belittled.I know one thing ,no one will be brought to Christ by the type of discussion I've seen here.

Each abuse report and its corresponding post stands on its own. If you think we're gonna hash through hundreds of posts to see "who started it" you're nuts. If you do not want to take the chance of having an abuse report attached to your post (and your account log), or to have your post pulled, or to receive a warning or a suspension or possibly even a ban, then DON"T POST THE ATTACK!! Period. What could be simpler than that? Has absolutely nothing to do with an atheist, or your opponent, or anyone else. It has to do with YOU. Only YOU can prevent yourself from being banned!!!
Don't post the attack!! Why is this so hard to understand?

Take a deep breath, walk away from the computer, go get yourselves a soft drink, watch some TV, read a book, take a shower, do whatever....but you're working yourselves up into a state.

Amen. What could be simpler?
And now that that problem is solved:
Just in:
$50 from Kansas
$20 from Georgia
$10 from Ohio
$50 from South Carolina
Thank you all very much!!

We can just repeat the facts and explain the logic again perhaps in different words.Jhn 8:43 Why do ye not understand my speech? [even] because ye cannot hear my word.
Jhn 8:44 Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
To: Jim Robinson
Please define attack, then? I posted two posts to AG that did not contain personal attacks. Next afternoon, I'm called on the carpet for harassment. Now, she never told me not to post to her. She was ignoring me, but I disagreed with a point she made. So, I went after the point, not the person. Is some people's word enough that an attack was made (even if no post is given where an attack can be found?)
