YOU are NOT a very bad human being.

Yes I am. Every single thing in that list is true about me. I'm really rotten.

Gee, my self esteem is in the gutter lately.

When we spoke our vows, we meant them. Forever. Only you. No one but you. Should he die before me, I will not remarry. He is my husband for all time.

I needed to meet you, not the woman I married. You'd have stuck through the tough times.

My father split when I was three, and I became a very bad human being.

My dad left when I was four. I haven't become a serial killer, but the lack of a dad, in my opinion, does leave a gap in me, emotionally.

Ta Wee (or Sorry – Good screen name for you by the way)

You seem to have a real axe to grind here (men who don’t like women shouldn’t be allowed to speak). Nice tolerance level for descent. For the record, I am happily married, male chauvinist pig, my wife likes me that way and I care way more about her opinion of my behavior that I do about your opinion on anything. That said, you don’t get the point (yes I’ve Seen this in action).

***Men who are demoralized and quit society diminish society. (Women too, but this thread is about men.) ***

If you diminish society enough, it “falls over” (Nick’s wording). Forget the feminist agenda (you don’t like me, boo-hoo, or you’re a baaaad man) they won’t work here. Try addressing the actual premise that if you take away what a man works for he stops working.

So, tell us why a man who has lost everything he cares about would continue to work?

=>Ta Wee (or Sorry – Good screen name for you by the way)

You don't even know what it means or refers to.

=>You seem to have a real axe to grind here (men who don’t like women shouldn’t be allowed to speak).

Most men don't seem to like women, certainly most conservative men. They would seem to prefer a world without us.

=>For the record, I am happily married, male chauvinist pig, my wife likes me that way and I care way more about her opinion of my behavior that I do about your opinion on anything. That said, you don’t get the point (yes I’ve Seen this in action).

You had a point?

Poor dears, facing adversity, not getting their way. I speak as a woman who LOST EVERYTHING TO A GAY EX-HUSBAND, and curiously, I was able to carry on without whining. I have a good career, I buy new cars with my own earnings, I own my house outright without money from any guy...why was I able to do this? Could it be because I had enough character to be responsible for myself???

All of you pathetic examples of 'men' (hah! boys!) should form a boo hoo club, so you can wail together and get it out of your systems. Maybe you could all band together and live together, too. You might like it a LOT.

=>So, tell us why a man who has lost everything he cares about would continue to work?

Because living in the gutter is no fun and because humans aren't owed a living from society (this is a conservative forum, you may have noticed...)

Fine, your screen name just RYMES with Sorry.

Correction, Most men don’t seem to like you. Why is that, do you think? Is it because you constantly name call or insinuate they are (or should be) gay? Is that what happened to your husband? I am a conservative male. I love my wife, mother and sisters. I am a heterosexual. I have just given you an exception to your “Most Men” statement. I have observed several “Men” on this tread state the same thing. With the sample of posters on this thread you seem to be off in your perceptions. Care to cite statistics to back up your little pet theory?

Poor dear, her husband ran away and decided women were a genetic mistake after seeing her in action (Sorry, I have little sympathy for those who need therapy and instead go on public forums to hurt others with invective). And for the record, I didn’t bring your husband into this, you did. As for carrying on, so GET OVER HIM ALREADY If you are doing so when why use your venom on anyone who is male and has an opinion? Don’t you have better things to do? (Guess not)

See my section about men not liking YOU and why :-) You asked my point about Mentioning my wife, and state of my marriage, this was it, observing your earlier tactics of this thread; I knew you would go right here.

=> Because living in the gutter is no fun and because
=> humans aren't owed a living from society (this is

Yes actually I did notice, kind of you to ask. But we live in the real liberal world where if you stop working the government will be right over to help you out. Note that ND’s original post did not say stop working, (Correct me if I'm wrong Nick) but stop working hard! And in that case you can continue to “Work” without actually putting any effort into it and THAT is what will destroy a society (in this case ours).

So, at the risk of being redundant, why would a man that has lost everything continue to care about his work only to have the rewards stolen from him? (You may have a job, and may be taking care of your self without government assistance, I do not know.) You do not have a LARGE chunk of your income going to your husband and his gay lover. (Check your gut for a moment and see how that would feel and maybe you’ll allow those like chookter just might have a reason for their feelings)

Still waiting for an answer (not really expecting it, but waiting).

So, tell us why a man who has lost everything he cares about would continue to work?

A better question would be, "Why woulda man who has lost everything that he cares about continue to care about work?

As Nick Danger noted in his posts to this threads, a guy may still show up to work, but do a slipshod job, and certainly fail to invest his heart and soul in the endeavor...for, microcosmically or macrocosmically, why should he care about the future of anything when his only real connection to the future (his children) have been taken from him?

why should he care about the future of anything when his only real connection to the future (his children) have been taken from him?

A husband whose wife dies is about ten times more likely to commit suicide than a wife whose husband dies.

Unemployed men commit suicide at twice the rate of employed men. Among women, there is no difference in the rate of suicide based on whether or not the woman is employed.

In the middle of the Great Depression, men were 650 percent more likely to commit suicide than women.

The suicide rate of adolescent boys has recently increased three times as quickly as the girls.

Just twenty years ago, young men (between 25 and 34) committed suicide at only twice the rate of young women; today, it is four times the rate. (Men's rate increased 26 percent;women's rate decreased 33 percent.)

In the 1980s, more men in the military committed suicide than were killed in Lebanon, Grenada, and Panama combined. And for each suicide, there were an estimated eight attempts.

When the farming crisis led to foreclosers and bankruptcies in the upper midwestern states in the early 1980s, the suicide rate among male farmers tripled.

What happens to men who lose their connection with the futre? I think the answer is obvious!

Okay, I'll agree with you: Men are miserable weaklings who cannot take care of themselves, much less a family. They are excused from all responsibility.

I will agree with you. Men are such pathetic weaklings in the face of adversity that they cannot go on. Let's have a moment of silence and we'll all shed a communal tear for them. It's so sad.

Actually, it's characterless PEOPLE who don't go on.

But I suspect what you're really after is Special Pity, which is especially pitiful and pathetic.

Stop Horsing around Ta Wee, if you can’t give a logical answer, and can only attack, then why bother to call yourself a conservative? (This is a conservative forum remember?) Reason, not insults rule here. See my reply #248 right near the top and cite me some statistics proving (or at least backing up your point).

If you can’t prove your point (men are weak and incompetent), then why post? If you can prove your point in ONE post then I promise to admit defeat publicly on this forum. If however all you can do is name-call, I will dismiss you with the rest of the feminists.

On a personal note, if I may, this is fun and all, but I am starting to worry about you. Anyone who says they are fine, yet constantly brings up what they say they got over is fooling only themselves. I’ve seen this too many times. I am serious when I say get professional help; this is not a dig. Someone who goes around with as big a chip on their shoulder as you have cannot be functioning their best in society.

I really do sincerely wish you to have a nice day and to get some help.

But you like women, don't you?

Whiney, miserable, raving wimpy men disgust me. Do you have any idea how pitifully that tirade reads? HOW UNMANLY? What woman would want to be a caretaker to such a person?

And why do you make so many assumptions about me? Could it be you just enjoy attacking women?

And I DON'T CRY. I don't push off the blame for my shortcomings on individuals or groups of people. I take responsibility for myself. You could try it.

What misery?

Who's the one who's doing all the whining? People who must be victims are pathetic.
