...a coven of big ugly lesbians snarled, grunted, and looked tough as they tried to to the easiest task, ... That's one reason I think navratilova never deserved even a fraction of the credit that Chris evert does! Few agree with me, and PC says otherwise ...

I am not attacking our military. I am posting facts that will help freepers respond to liberal and feminist editorials CELEBRATING female POW's.

Not a soapbox, a legitimate point. On that I hope our military retains clarity on. I didn't have a major bee in my bonnett for women in the military until this week. I am tired of seeing them slammed when they are over there busting their butts, and I got into it a few days ago, moving from thread to thread now. I just want to show all the troops that they have our support, not just some of them.

On the average, I'd agree, but individual cases can differ widely (for example, were you to see a picture of me and a picture of Bev Francis, I expect you'd rather have Ms. Francis fighting at your side!)--and anyone who can cut the mustard, without any slack being cut, should be able to get in.

It isn't I who's attacking our armed forces, CC. I really have no patience for the moral blackmail by which politicians seek to extort support by depicting everything as "supporting the troops" or "military morale". Using just this defense is there any war conceivable that couldn't be launched, with the post hoc demand that everyone must back it or else be tarred as unpatriotic?
Sorry; this is precisely the right time to be discussing the political and sociological implications of war. I wish our troops well and pray for them daily -- more than once a day recently -- but part of the reason they signed on was to protect our right to have conversations just like this.

But, you need to see that there are extremes on this issue. The hillary brigade, for instance, is unreasonable and stupid. There is no place for co-ed type sleeping and training and putting lives at risk to prove a point.
However, other women, such as me, think that we can participate in the military in some limited fashion effectively - we just don't know what that would be.
On a side note, I think it is disgusting that women who join the service cannot keep their legs closed (or use some form of control)until they are out of the service.

"This is no longer a power game where ambitious women can try to advance their careers," Rios said during her speech, "this is a matter of life and death. Any claim that women are equal to men in combat settings is utterly irrational."
I agree.
And if the women don't like it, tell them to go and bitch at God.. but shut up about the Armed forces already.

The discussion needs to be put on hold till after they are back.
women in combat is a valid (and open) question. It's even more vaild while we are in combat.
I personally couldn't care less if it hurts someone's feelings. Sometimes the truth hurts.

This...
"On a side note, I think it is disgusting that women who join the service cannot keep their legs closed (or use some form of control)until they are out of the service."
...is one of the extremes. Any further questions?

of that female American POWYes, I think of her every day. Shoshana (Shawna) Johnson, daughter of a Gulf I vet and his wife who works as civilian at Ft. Bliss, sister of an army Captain (also a woman), and mother of a little girl. Shawna was an Army cook who never expected to see action. God bless her, I wouldn't bet that she isn't in the hands of brutes.
There really should be a policy that keeps women out of action.

Gee, I thought I just posted that...
If you are trying to make a point, I think it just went astray.

I was in an Inf platoon for a year in Vietnam...any thoughts of putting one or more women in the platoon would have destroyed it....we would have come apart at the seems...
The fighting over the woman as she played favorites to either get what she wanted ..or had she refused the advances of the more agressive males..would have destroyed it..
I cannot imagine the guys trying to keep their minds on the job with a woman onboard for any of our lengthy patrols or ambushes...
In order to satisfy the desires of those who want to be men...we have to pay for two armies one to satisfy the PC crowd and one that actually works...
What a friggen waste of resources and money
To: LibertyThug
You did indeed post that material. It is your question AND your answer.
If there is a place where this extreme can be tolerated, then that is a place for mixed duty.

"This is no longer a power game where ambitious women can try to advance their careers," Rios said during her speech, "this is a matter of life and death. Any claim that women are equal to men in combat settings is utterly irrational." I'm hoping the offshoot of this conflict is the sober realization of the above-mentioned fact by all branches of the armed services.
One reason the Marine Corps is, top to bottom, the most effective fighting force of all the service branches is the fact that they, more than most, isolate and separate the training of male and female recruits. And I say that as an Army veteran.
The chain is only as strong as its weakest link, people. Women have no place in combat or combat areas, as we have already seen in the last week, sad to say.
Probably won't happen, though. The libs and feminazis are too inbred with the liberal judges who infect and pollute the justice system to allow such a purging to take place.
To: narses
they do offer a great incentive for guys to get the job done quickly!;)

I'm sorry I didn't understand the point of your post.
The military has rules. If you break those rules you should be punished. Punishment should be fair, equally applied. I That is the only way to have discipline.
If there is a rule against sex with fellow soldiers, it should be enforced for both parties. Sex between superiors and subordinates should carry more severe punishment for the superior (it already does). Simple and easy.
In fact, the military has lots of rules one must follow. In a volunteer military (such as we have now) . People sign up knowing the rules. Discipline was a greater problem under the draft as would be expected.

I get flamed on these threads every time I speak out. Oh well, if you can't stand the heat and all that. I don't think the standards should be lowered and I agree that most women could not meet the standards set but just like most Chinese cannot play basketball, the few like Yao should be allowed. Just because most are not able is no reason to keep those who are out. And to be really controversial, I don't think it is fair to the men to make them bare the burden alone. No one stops to think about what we ask of the men.

Um, it takes two to tango. If it's disgusting that people in the military are having sex, it is disgusting that both are. Ditto on c=Contraceptives. Takes two to procreate. Biology 101.
