Has it come to this, Miz? We have to invoke the name of our Commander, Jim Rob too? That's what the Dark Side always says.."JimRob this, and JimRob that...tattle, tattle, whine, whine".
Remember those kids who used to say "I'm gonna go tell YOUR mother on you"..then go and do it?! Why do I get the feeling these same people are on FR and never grew up?

I'm not so much invoking as I am asking for some clarification. Either this is what JimRob wrote about, or it's not. If it's not, we're wasting our time here. I'd like him to state what he wants here.

Oh, I would think you're probably right...it's just that when I saw "XO" I thought of "X01."
To: FresnoDA
What happens if he's convicted only on the porn charges? If they convict on kidnapping I'd be curious to know the evidence considering it was never shown he was in the VD home.
I disagree with the suggestion the "emotions" being wrestled with are related to the parent's lifestyle. They may well instead be with those who can't see past the image the prosection has planted in their minds (absent evidence): Ninja Dave hiding in her closet, kidnapping her from her bed, raping her, etc. From my jury experience there are probably more women (I'll guess up to four of six) than men (2-3) swayed by this.

Wouldn't it be a jaw-dropper if those disks were, as I've often suspected, given to DW or loaned to him by the van Dams? Sort of a Swinger Club party favor?
To: spectre
After seeing what I saw this weekend (with demsuz/Hildy, then with MizS), I hate to say this, but I think you're right. And that's just plain wrong.
To: MizSterious
I don't think that's the case, since some or all of the files had his business name as the prefix (I have a theory about that). I'm pretty sure they didn't come from the VDs, but it was yet another weird coincidence in this case.
Did you see the anagrams on the other thread? Very weird, too, although they also mean nothing at all.
:-)
To: small_l_libertarian
sorry - meant "demsux."
To: MizSterious
Oh, Miz..I didn't mean to give them the impression you or I were tattleling..I know the point you are making. It's a two-way street. I guess the only way to make that point is to echo their bellyaching.
BTW, I am sure that the Van Dams have an extended porno collection, probably some of the homemade variety.
Brenda without her clothes on? Can you just imagine! Oh perish the thought...yuk.

Not all the porn, just the zips and cds. There seemed to be some reason why they refused to fingerprint those disks and cases. Remember, the LE did their best to avoid any evidence that would point to anyone else.

"and that's plain wrong"
Plain as the nose on your face...and they know it.

Well, I wouldn't dismiss your idea entirely (way too much strange stuff surrounding these guys to do that), but I think it's unlikely. It could have happened that way, though.
My personal opinion is that the CDs and Zips contained full backups of his hard drive(s), which is/are probably labelled "IEA." I think they were his, but not a "porno collection" like the DA is making out.
To: small_l_libertarian
IEA is a Windows designation. You probably have lots of files beginning with IEA, also, usually stuff in the Internet Explorer cache files. Feldman brought that out at trial.
To: MizSterious
Really? I thought that was the name of his business. (According to Doofus.)
Well, I am going to have to go look for "IEA" files and see what's what. "IE" makes sense for "Internet Explorer - will have to see what "A" is for.
Thank you!
nancy grace just did it again.
New poll would you convict on DNA evidence alone?
46 % yes
54% no

It doesn't seem to be something that's common to all Windows PCs, because I just checked two (one is running Windows98 and the other is WindowsXP). There were only a few files that had "IEA" in them.
I did search hidden files, but I know there are some hidden files that are REALLY hidden. Maybe it was them?
Anyhow, my computers don't have "IEA" files, like where temporary internet files would be. I still think it might be a drive label. My files all start with "Elvis."

Is she just playing dumb, or does she really not know what % means?

Well, let's just ignore Ms. disGrace for a few moments and bask in those numbers...
46% Yes
54% No
Let's hear it for our man Feldy!

I'm sure this was posted ages ago, but after seeing the affidavits in more detail:
The allegation surfaced in an internal memo from the district attorney's office dated Nov. 29, 2000, questioning the actions of Michael Ott and Mark Keyser. An investigator for the district attorney's office told a prosecutor that he believed that Ott and Keyser doctored facts in an affidavit to obtain an arrest warrant for a man held for investigation of murder. The memo said the man held had been arrested with "very little justification" and that Keyser had filed an affidavit falsely stating that a witness had positively identified him in a photo lineup. The witness never did pick anyone out of the lineup, according to the memo. It was unclear whether the man was ever charged with the crime.

I'm running Windows XP too, and have quite a few IEA files. Odd.
