Your reply was pulled because it was an advertisement not because of the content.

Good morning all!
What an upbeat way to start the morning, Gweenie, reading your post. Wouldn't that be something? :~)
All, look at the symbol Mommya posted. Interesting, isn't it? Looks like a combination of X and O for Hugs and Kisses, doesn't it? I guess that would be the nice interpretation of what the symbol really means.
Barf bags out and ready for CTV today. THANK GOD, we won't have to listen to them much longer...
How many lies can we catch them in today?!

I will be putting CourtTV on at 9, but prolly muting the screen until something looks new & fresh....like a verdict.
Monday is too ornery a day to listen to warmed over Nancy Grace & the others.
Actually, ANY day is fouled when listening to their evil voices, LOL!

As a completely irrelevant aside ...
The porno disks in Westerfield's office were marked "X01."
To: mommya
Mommya, could you post a link, so we can see what the heck the symbol is about? Thanks!

Did I somehow wander into the non-backroom forums? I thought this was the Smokey Backroom? And in any event, I've seen advertisements posted "out there" (over and over) all the time. Why are these Westerfield threads being singled out for censorship?
I think maybe we all need some clarification regarding the rules back here. If they're the same as "out there" we might just as well abandon the whole idea. The Smokey Backroom is a good idea as outlined by Jim below--will the moderators let this happen?
Here is what I understood about the Smokey Backroom, as defined by Jim Robinson. Jim said, on this thread--
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/backroom/734000/posts
The Smokey Backroom is an enter at your own risk forum. We're going to relax the rules a bit here, as far as heated debate is concerned. This is where you can roll around in the mud and the blood and the beer, so to speak. And if someone gets a piece of his ear bitten off and lets out a curse word or two, he probably won't get banned (as long as he doesn't make a habit of going overboard).
In other words, some of the rules may be loosened up a bit in this forum. But not the rules against racism, or leftist propaganda, etc. That kind of stuff is still not welcome on FR. If a flamewar breaks out on FR, we may ask the flamers to take it to the backroom.
Or, in some instances, we may move entire threads here. This is an alternative to deleting them. We'll be playing it by ear for awhile and see how it is received.
This is not to say that we're going to welcome vicious or nasty attacks, libel or slander, but if some of you wish to get a bit heated and all of the participants involved have thick skins and are not going to cry about it, here's the place.

And John Robinson posted (on the same thread):
Jim posted a message to the moderators,
Mods: The Smokey Backroom is here. This forum is setup for those who want a little more heated debate. I'm recommending that we allow a little more rule bending here. We don't want the racist stuff or the propaganda, but we can allow the people to let their hair down a bit. Spitting, biting, hair pulling and cursing allowed as long as they don't go to extremes.
I'm thinking we can also move out of control flamewar threads to this forum rather than deleting them.
Forum internal name: backroom
Topic: heated.

Actually, no, not usually. If attacked, we will defend ourselves, but over-all, we've been far milder than the denizens of the Ministry of Truth other threads. The only time I've seen "screw you" posted here was when someone recreated the note Hildy sent. Although, apparently, "screw you" is the phrase of choice by at least one of the moderators, rating far above "bite me." I think, then, we can safely say "screw you." However, it offends my sensibilities, so I will probably abstain.

What happened last night that I missed. Should I go pull up the old threads?

Give it up Miz. Wanna know why? Because even the Sidebar Mods have an opinion about this case, and it looks as tho they are on the Dark Side. Pray for them.

Just for laughs, check out this rules for posting from the
Free Republic posting guildeines--
- Do lead by example - Nothing improves a forum more than posters who reason sharply, write well, and have some perspective about it all. Be one of them.
- Do preview - Preview twice, post once. And, ahem, close your HTML tags before you hit the reply button. (More on that below .)
- Do keep it clean - A bruise or two between Freepers is tolerable, but refrain from abusive attacks, engaging in senseless flame wars, and using profane language. Considering the range of topics we discuss, it's hard to be a family site, but that's what we aim for when at all possible.
- Do "take it to the Alley" - The Alley is a public chat room. A link to it is provided on the latest posts page. Invite people there if you want to talk things over or settle a score, so to speak, off site.
- Do use common sense - If you read a post that sounds too good or strange to be true, it probably is.
- Do stay on topic - If you are going to post an article, make sure you are placing it in the correct topic area.
- Do include the original title - When you post an article, be sure to include the original title where appropriate. This helps users find the article and lessens the chance of a double post.
- Do keep "vanity" posts to a minimum - Free Republic is primarily a place to discuss news, articles, and editorials. Vanity posts, creations of the poster him or herself, should meet a high standard of quality before one is even considered worthy of posting. Often a relevant current thread or general announcement, catch-all thread is a much better choice for a brief question or comment.
- Don't jump threads - If you get involved in an argument in one thread, it's considered poor manners to restart the previous argument in the middle of an unrelated thread.
- Don't spam - Post your message once. If you are not sure if it has posted, check the latest posts page.
- Don't violate poster privacy - Don't reveal online another poster's phone number, address, or other information that the person hasn't already made public for everyone on Free Republic. If you are asked for a friend's email address, the best advice usually is to forward the request to the friend. He or she can then decide whether to respond.
- Don't play games - Don't represent yourself as another person, create or use another screen name to avoid a revocation of posting privileges, misrepresent the site or your role in it, and don't misattribute a contribution you've made. (Parody exceptions would apply to the latter, of course, but it should be clear what you are doing.)
- Don't be a whiner - If you really, really find Free Republic not to your liking, let the webmaster know directly ( jimrob@psnw.com ), learn to live with it, or move along.

"Because even the Sidebar Mods have an opinion about this case, and it looks as tho they are on the Dark Side."And it appears as though they're not going to let a little old thing like Jim Robinson's wishes stop them from achieving their agenda.

I'm afraid your hopes will be dashed if you look at the evidence.
"If it looks like a duck, blah, blah...than it's a duck"...sadly.

Apparently Mommya posted an ad. People do that all the time, but we must remember, the Westerfield trial threads are singled out for particularly draconian censorship. It appears to have spread even to the Smokey Backroom, which I originally thought was a good idea. Now I'm wondering if it's just the "same old-same old."
