Your post is directly on-target. Some people seem to enjoy forming circular firing squads. I've been invited to post over at LibertyPost, might have to go over there. But I really wish the people on both FR and LibertyPost would pay more attention to our respective similarities instead of dwelling on our differences. When we examine what binds us, it can be quite inspiring.

Different sites with different goals. Frankly, I don't have any problem with them even though they seem to have a hardon for over here.

But I am not sure that the LP is set up for what you imply, Badjoe. It would be nice to see many forums for advancing conservatism and rolling back the governmental monstrosity, but I take the site's founder's words at face value. That isn't the goal of the site. The goal of that site is:

Sorry, I have no desire to spend my time battling with various forms of collectivists.

I think the best thing in the world for all involved would be for each group to express the right to freedom of association, and just leave the other alone.

that has been formed in last few years. The Democrats have an ironclad vendetta to stop every Republican that gets
in their way...any way they can....George Will had a
column few months ago where he explained "push polling"
that is a common weapon for Democrats in a tight race...
You figure this out..happened in Iowa race...the Dem.
opponent had their supporters calling voters on the phone few days before election: Question: Would you vote for
(name of opponent) if you knew he was going to be arrested
for pornography on the internet? No basis..out of blue
with these type of "push polling"....If you are a Freeper,
you know we are at war with the Dems..watch the sly remarks
by TV commentators, the ripping NY Times articles, the
putdown of Bush,etc. Read the book..Slander and see
if you still want to throw marshmellows at these proteges
of Carville, Clinton, Begala?? Joe..Jake to Freepers.

From what I have read here it seems many are more interested in fighting each other than they are in advancing the cause of individual liberty and limited constitution government as envisioned by our forefathers.

The latter does seem to support the former and is, respectfully, almost a contradiction in terms. Are we not free to discuss the limits of this government? Are we to remain silent about the extent of individual liberty? It took years to ratify the Constitution.

I submit, BADJOE, that out of the argument eventually emerges facts that can be the foundation of the truths we believe. Dogma and political correctness is what the other side lives by. If another Conservative agree with me a 100%, I'd think them ignorant, stubborn or a spy.

You make a good point. I read about 500 more articles more than I post, or comment upon.

Outside of disruptors, as a whole, I am heartend by the general tone and cooperation that I see here. I have some strong opinions re: 911 and its aftermath, and some other topics. Occasionally my mind is broadened (I wouldn't admit that anyone ever changed my mind).

We have better arguments and positions than our foes; we hold them dear, as they are under constant assault in the world around us, logic be damned.

During impeachment whenever things got too hot, I'd weigh in and remind everyone, "As goes the FR, so goes the Free Republic we live in."
