When there is only vigilante law, every offense carries a potential death sentence.
And not to make any moral comparisons, but the 4 deaths at Kent State had a dramatic effect on campus protests. It remains to be seen if this will lead eco-terrorist/protestors to start carrying or stop blocking traffic.

The severity of the punishment (if any) will depend on the amount of payoff decided by and for the judge. That's how things swing down that way.

Oh, to be eligable for jury duty there. The last time I was assigned jury duty was during COVD lockdowns, so the judge did juror interviews by phone. He mentioned that a gun charge was involved. I asked if the perp had threatened anyone, or shot at anyone and was told no, it was a possession case. I quoted the phrase "shall not be infringed" to him, and my opinion that state law violates that basic right. I was released from the jury pool.
