Whether it’s fantasy or not, it is what Bill Gates believed in 2011. So it puts his later comment about doing a good job with vaccines and healthcare to reduce population growth into perspective. They aren’t killing people with vaccines or healthcare.

Now reproductive health might be a different story. If they are pushing preventives that’s one thing, abortion is another.

Let's say Musk successfully Mars-shot all the sweet Hohmann transfer slots in the late 20s and early 30s, Man has set foot on Mars and returned, and we are up to 4 flights a year to Mars and 2 return flights back. Musk has a primitive above-ground habitat that can hold 75, where we are making our own oxygen, water, and food; he also has supply reserves in orbit that can serve as return vehicles; and meanwhile Musk's Boring Co robots are about to finish the below-ground settlement that will hold the first 1000 Martians.
