Many, many years ago a top 10 volleyball coach suddenly resigned ¼ of the way into the season. While not explicitly stated, she was sexually involved with a player and word got out.

Only someone living under a rock was surprised she was doing a player. She did the same thing when she was a high school coach.

Several decades ago, the infighting between the straight and lesbians on the San Jose State softball team got so bad, the University President cancelled the rest of the season. In a rare move it was actually reported in the media.

I know of a major college volleyball coach who had a 4+ year relationship with a player that started when he coached her in high school. None of her teammates were aware of the relationship until someone called the AD with the information. He was fired immediately. In an uncommon result, they later married and had three children in what appears to be a very happy marriage.

There was also a situation at the university of Idaho several decades ago during parent’s weekend for the volleyball team. A dad noticed that his daughter did not play much nor was on the travel team when she was far better that the girls who played and on the travel team. After the Saturday night match, he learned of the reasons for this. The lesbians were given preference regardless of talent.

Next day, the dad located the University President to demand the coach be fired by the end of the day or he would go to the media with all the unpleasant news. The female coach was fired that day
