I clearly have a minority view:
I did not hesitate to vote for Donald Trump, and would not hesitate to vote for him again. I have no moral dilemma, since I was and am voting for a secular, political office, not any ecclesiastical position.
I do not consider him any moral paragon, and, as someone who has served in ministry, would not permit him to have any authority in a congregation. Comparing him to the Clintons, with a trail of scores of dead bodies in their wake, is a very low bar.
The Bible speaks plainly about living a moral life as a believer, about being the husband of one wife, and speaks plainly about confession and repentance.
I have seen no evidence of Donald Trump truly confessing and repenting - ever. He simply does what he likes, justifies it, and moves on.
Excusing him as just another fallen sinner is a cop out. One might as well say, Go and sin some more; one might as well say, Sin so that Grace may abound.
It is also a thorough insult to those who strive to live a sanctified life, as service to God, and witness to others.
The real implication of excusing Donald Trump’s lifestyle carte blanche while portraying him as a devout Christian is that anyone who really lives a sanctified life is just a chump.
The opinion of another racist, neo-Nazi professor of African studies.
What a LOAD of HORSE CRAP.
Yes I hope he is a Christian but am not assured of it.
I was unsure about voting for him but voted enthusiastically for Pence who I see as a true brother.
I have been delighted with his performance and see him as a great friend of the church whether he is actually saved or not. My number one issue was religious freedom and in that area he GETS it.
He will have my enthusiastic support in 2020 and I pray for him frequently. I try to get my Christian friends on board and have seen some
positive turning.
I think that when unbelievers say evangelical they mean Bible believers.
Yeah, such minor provocations as calling him a liar, trying to impeach him, saying his 12 year old son DESERVES to be placed in a cage with pedophiles.
Yeah, that's overreacting.
Putz
I disagree with you, often, and on on many things. On and in this sentiment, we are UTTERLY in agreement.
G_d Bless.
Of course.
