Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.
But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.
And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.
And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.
That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.
Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

This country was founded on the principle that all men are created equal and endowed by our Creator with our shared unalienable rights. This is a Judeo-Christian nation. I’m not a great Christian, not a theologian, or even an educated man.
Just a simple, humble believer who doesn’t often quote or debate scripture, but has complete faith in the Lord nonetheless.

Why wait until after the election?
I’m going on the attack in public. I might be out of line - if so, I’ll accept the consequences.
Early on on this thread I had some conversation with a freeper named Tamzee. A good freeper since 2003, but something just didn’t feel right about her accusations of FR attacking Mormons so I took a look at her posting history.
She posted quite regularly during the elections of 2004, but during the elections of 2008, she was mostly silent. She made 100 posts from Nov 2006 to March of 2008, then 100 more from March of 2008 to Sept 2009. She made 100 posts for the whole year from Sept 2009 to Sept 2010. Then she was absent except one post until April of 2012. I teasingly asked if she had been on a Mormon mission - but she stated she hadn’t been absent at all. Then she went silent again.
Next we have Gortklattu (since 2000). He appears to have been highly active with his postings until October 2005 making hundreds of posts ever 6 months or so, but suddenly in 2005 he goes silent, completely. Suddenly on Nov 28 2011 he reappears and has posted about 200 posts since that time.
So then I look at sf4dubya - just out of curiosity. She was absent from FR twice. From Nov 2005 to Aug 2007 and most recently from Sept 2011 to Feb 2012. She normally posts 100 posts every couple of months, but since Aug 12, she has posted 300 posts mostly on this very thread. She is a professed Jew, yet when she pings a well known Jewish FReeper, he doesn’t seem to know her.
Perhaps I am simply a conspiracy theorist, but isn’t it strange that the most spirited Mormon defender is relatively unknown here? She personally takes credit for getting this thread moved to the smoky back room, and now is personally asking for it to be taken down completely.
There may be more interesting tidbits to be gleamed from this thread. Please don’t take it down Jim.
As was posted earlier in the thread (and for some reason, wouldn’t accept a reply) there are some of us who live in states SOOOOOOOOOOO deeply blue as to not have a snowball’s chance in hell to see obama NOT get the state.
Some of us are used to our votes not counting for anything except in some local or smaller elections.
I have the luxury of casting a protest vote for president.
Same for Senate.
However in the House vote, our incumbent (Ann Marie Buerkle) just squeaked in last election over a dem incumbent. She’s got a tough fight for her seat and I will vote for her if I have to crawl to the polling place.
For those who plan on casting protest votes, before they’re shredded for it, it would be good for those doing the shredding to consider the circumstances.
Here in NY, we CAN’T overcome the momentum of NYC. Perhaps if ALL the rest of the state, including ALL the cities Upstate, voted ONLY Republican, we might have a chance, but since all the Upstate cities vote blue, obama taking NY is a done deal.
Tom gets my vote if he’s on the ballot.
As an American citizen, you always have that luxury. It's not limited by the place where you live.
My vote will always go to a conservative, as I hope yours will too.

Could you perhaps do us the courtesy of providing a post number to the post in which that statement allegedly by Kevmo is to be found?
