I live near the Wallkill PD area of operation and am familiar with what happened here.
Reading the article just reminded me heavily of Wallkill PD.
Eliot Spitzer slapped them on the wrist, appointed a watchdog, and then walked away.
[He was the AG at the time.]

The locals started calling teh State Troopers on the Wallkill guys whenever they pulled someone over, but only after the Wallkill PD got slapped on the wrist.
Enough of that, and some token firings happened.
Certain officers finally figured it out, some transferred, others shaped up.
Then the guys who weren’t engaging in the behavior spoke up.
Once they weren’t going to be harassed themselves by the grimy cops.

I am confident that most State Police are above that type of behavior and if they are not they are soon weeded out.

I'm afraid what will happen is that Wyrich will just land a job in some other state/county/district, where he can start this up all over again. If a cop gets his badge yanked for behavior like this his ability to get a law enforcement job should be permanently over.

Sounds like the cop didnt know she was the bedwarmer of a really important lawyer. Poor lawyers wife,,, the only one at the party who didn’t drink! (she says she only “sipped” some wine)
Some lawyer is playing the “you don’t know who i am” game,,,

She’s guilty as homemade sin,,,

You are full of crap.

The facts of the story are substantiated, abusive and pretty scary.

First off, she was pulled over for a fabricated pretext, had a BAL of 0.00000 which confirms her story she was not drinking (if you have alcohol on your breath you will blow a positive reading), and had very reason to be concerned and frightened because of the police were falsely that she was drinking.

The real problem is what happened afterwords. She blew 0.0000, the officer tried to “recalibrate” the machine, would not let the husband witness the test, and she still blew 0.0000.

Despite the fact that she blew 0.0000 and had done nothing wrong, the officer forced her to a second location to see a magistrate for unexplained purposes. The husband was pulled over so he could not escort his wife despite his obvious concerns for the officers unusual and non standard behavior.

This is abuse by an LEO and scary stuff. Quite possibly, this happens often to people who do not have means to object, but the officer this time messed finally messed with the wrong people.

You write: She didn’t refuse the breath test (there is video of her blowing 0.00).

Uh buddy, that video was the test administered at the police station AFTER she was arrested for REFUSING THE BREATHALYZER TEST WHEN THE OFFICER STOPPED HER ON THE ROADWAY! You didn’t even read the letter the trial attorney wrote did you? You didn’t even read the police report did you? You didn’t even google the name of the trooper for an update did you? SHeese.

_________________________________________________________________

Hey moron - she did not refuse a sobriety test. She declined to take a FIELD sobriety test from a police officer, with his equipment, who was acting in a biased and aggressive fashion and requested to take the sobriety test in a more controlled environment which is both her right under the law and is perfectly understandable under the circumtances.

She did nothing wrong. The officer is in the wrong here- this was a bad stop from the get go and got progressively worse as the night went on.

I suspect there may be a few people coming forward with some very interesting stories about this officer’s behavior now that there is publicity

“All women would rather believe they were stopped because of their beauty rather than their ineptness behind the wheel.

Also, all women would rather believe the reason they got the ticket is because they took that 2 second stare down after the standard excuse making is over as a “proposition”...”

There are plenty of intelligent women who disprove your fallacious statement.

Likewise, many women are smart enough to pick up on when a man finds them attractive and would like to roll in the sack with them.

You have needlessly and fallaciously smeared every woman on Free Republic, demonstrating intellectual dishonesty—the same trait shared by many posters at the Daily Kos or DU.

“I reported 3 people. There is no call for the level of name calling these 3 were doing. NONE at all. They are children and need to be treated as children. Maybe with God’s help someday they will grow up.”

Very likely, you ensured that your name was brought to the attention of the moderators-—and not in a positive sense. People who abuse the abuse button don’t have a long shelf life here. Note that the posts you reported still remain, reflecting the moderator’s judgment that they did not violate the TOS.

Therefore, you have, on three counts, by your own admission, reported Freepers for non-TOS violations.

Posting on any online forum requires the poster to have (or develop) thick skin. Yours appears to be rather thin. This, coupled with your intellectual dishonesty, doesn’t speak well of you. Perhaps you ought to concern yourself with how God intends to make you a more mature individual, and now how He intends to deal with others.

No pretense by the Lady. It all started with a headlight which she didn’t even receive a warning for. Then it escalates into something that was so out of her control. It’s late at night, she admits she’s nervous, uncomfortable with the field test due to high heels on the gravel road and wants witnesses to the test. Once the first test was given and shows she’s completely sober, it should have been done.

Considering the fake law enforcement ready to victimize people late at night, this trooper didn’t take her concerns seriously and soon crossed the line.

“Considering the fake law enforcement ready to victimize people late at night, this trooper didn’t take her concerns seriously and soon crossed the line.”

Exactly. A good police officer will understand that many women are apprehensive about being pulled over at night, and they will generally either permit the woman to go to a lit area or verify that the person pulling her over is, in fact, a cop, and not some criminal who bought a uniform and some lights.

Drop “without.” Insert “with it.” I have the dumbest spell checker in all of human history. So much for the “smart” phone.

As far as the “burned out headlight”...what don’t you get about malfunctioning equipment being the standard to allow police to stop ANY suspicious vehicle

And their vehicle was "suspicious" how????
