You never heard me say any of that. But repeating accurately what others have said has never been your strong suit.

Your Lost Cause buddies do. You're known by the company you keep.

Taking Abe’s bait at Sumter was one of them.

Naw, you don't blame Sumer on Lincoln at all, do you? </sarcasm>.

Just goes to show that those who are right do not always win.

Fortunately when it came to the Southern rebellion those in the right did win.

Whether the North won the war or not back then seems irrelevant considering it's a lost cause now.

They do look handsome in *blue* though.

Interesting link. Did you read the biographies?

Manservant, slave, cook, drummer, slave, manservant, etc.

Not one service record though.

"I, like many of you, have always been told, “Once a Marine, always a Marine,” and “There are no ex-Marines, only former Marines,” but for me that is no longer true."

As a simple gator aviation Navy sailor, please never ever let your dedication to the Corps go. I understand your frustration, but the few times I hear of a Marine letting go, it breaks my heart.

Please, don't ever let your status as a Marine diminish because you're p**sed or had a bad experience. YOU ARE A MARINE! The best on this rock. Millions love you. Get over it, son.

“that they’r taught as such then you delusional”

Could you repeat that in English, please?

[seriously, you are *so* on my “not bother to do list” it’s funny]

Good day.

"He was a tyrant. He valued the Union so much that he shat all over the Constitution. Obama has more respect for the Constitution than Lincoln did."

I doubt that Obami has "more respect for the Constitution". He "shats" on it every day.

Still, I believe that Lincoln overstepped Constitutional intent. I believe that any group of people has the right to form their own societal compact. If Texas were to succeed from the union tomorrow, I would be there.

Navy Vet,

Thank you for your service, Sir. These seem like such small words for what you have provided however, my words of gratitude are heartfelt and sincere.

"Sound familiar?"

Sounds familiar to me, having been a States's rights activist all my life.

“And yet here you are, bothering me in spite of that.”

*You*, my desperate little parasitic wannabe stalker, included ~me~ in a reply to a post ~not~ addressed to *you*.

Now, who’s “bothering” who?

Do *not* bother to ping me ever again because frankly, *years* of your unwanted yet unwavering “attention” is starting to make my skin crawl.

Nice site.

Very respectful to those brave black men who fought for their country, too.

"He suspended some Constitutional rights because they were inconvenient."

Yup, people forget about that because ole Abe supposedly want to keep the union together, but that's not what started the war.

As usual, it was economics and power and trade that killed all those young boys.

Personally, I believe that any group of people who want to form their own societal compact, have the right to do so, no matter how small. As I mentioned in this thread or another, any State that wants to secede from the Union should be allowed to, especially now that the Fedgov is becoming more intrusive in our lives.

I’m disgusted on your behalf and on behalf of all veterans, not just the Southern ones. This policy is a repudiation of what they all fought and sacrificed for.

I *received* that email. It was sent my direction.

Sorry for the confusion! Thought it was very telling of our current situation!

Shakespeare was a wise man:

“The lady doth protest too much, methinks.”

Funny how that one short line is still so timeless and relevant, no matter the gender or argument, is it not?

The stronger man [or woman] can afford to walk away from a fight.

A case can made for the opposite when somebody _just can’t let it alone_ and go do/be something useful after a few posts.

What you wrote reminds me of an “ancient” Usenet flame war “rule”:

“Whoever posts the next-to-last post, ~wins~”....:)

The wise Usenet warriors of old knew that it was far more rewarding [amusing?] to forego getting the desperate “last word” in and to simply cease to reply, leaving your “opponent” foolishly, nay, expectantly twisting in the wind.

[sadistic? yeah. funny? oh, hell yeah.]

:)

Who even bothers to create a "not bother to do" list in the first place?

I wonder how much time he spends on it?
