Palinista is a derisive term.LOL!Why is that?
Well, for for ONE thing, it is based on the "Sandinistas" -- who were the BAD guys, back in the day...
From CIA.gov:
Sandinista National Liberation Front,
Marxist organization founded with Cuban help
Hayworth was supporting the tribes position that their lands were sovereign and not subject to US laws like paying federal taxes and being subject to zoning and environmental regulations like every other US business.
He was trying to give the tribes a competive advantage. Personally, I don’t think he believed it but they gave him so much money he couldn’t say no.
Hayworth sold his soul to the tribes. I’m not saying he is a bad man, I’m saying how much are you willing to ignore in your support of the “more conservative” candidate?
All politicians are either a whore going in or coming out. None are to be trusted, including Palin.
Uhhh no, it’s based on the Perotistas.
Damn...
Every tme you post that pic you like like dribbling sycophant.
What choice? Can you elaborate on what you mean by 'choice'?
Perhaps they imagine some premise in your question that they don't like...
The reason for this is obvious to me, most Palin supporters hide their heads in the sand preferring to believe in marshmallow castles and strawberry moats (and messiahs) as opposed to hard realities of modern politics.
...such as "most Palin supports believe in marshmallow castles and strawberry moats".
LOL!
“What choice? Can you elaborate on what you mean by ‘choice’?”
The choice arrived at by sober, independent analysis as opposed to allowing the jack boots to force you into the knee jerk herd choice.
Governor Palin killed the bridge to nowhere, as the Alaskan democrat party used to post on their web site, until the veep campaign started, then they pulled it.
ABC news: Conservative bloggers point out that in their campaign against Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, Alaska Democrats gave credit to Gov. Palin for helping to kill the Bridge to Nowhere.
Gov. Sarah Palin said the $398 million bridge was $329 million short of full funding, and only $36 million in federal funds were set aside for it," the Democrats say. "She said it was clear Congress had little interest in spending any more money for it and that the state had higher priorities."
On another page the Dems say, Gov. Palin recently cancelled the Gravina Island Bridge near Ketchikan that would have connected the Alaska mainland with Gravina Island (population: 50)." When good oppo goes bad!
OK, but you should know that insults like this have no affect on me.
Now, do you want to know why I like that picture? (Of course you do). It depicts a strong, energetic, intelligent woman who has not sacrificed her femininity to compete in a traditionally male domain.
Liberal, and more than a few conservative, gals would benefit from emulating Palin.
The question is which candidate do you support for 2012 and no one can get you to answer it, although you try to give the impression that you have, many times. Cheney is not an answer, we can all name fantasy candidates, but that is not what you are asked repeatedly as you pound conservative candidates.
That must be why you have been labelled a big R liberal, as in post #156.
What choice are you talking about? A choice between what?
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Reuters) - It garnered big applause in her first speech as Republican John McCain’s vice presidential pick, but Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s assertion that she rejected Congressional funds for the so-called “bridge to nowhere” has upset many Alaskans.
During her first speech after being named as McCain’s surprise pick as a running mate, Palin said she had told Congress “’thanks but no thanks’ on that bridge to nowhere.”
In the city Ketchikan, the planned site of the so-called “Bridge to Nowhere,” political leaders of both parties said the claim was false and a betrayal of their community, because she had supported the bridge and the earmark for it secured by Alaska’s Congressional delegation during her run for governor.
The bridge, a span from the city to Gravina Island, home to only a few dozen people, secured a $223 million earmark in 2005. The pricey designation raised a furor and critics, including McCain, used the bridge as an example of wasteful federal spending on politicians’ pet projects.
When she was running for governor in 2006, Palin said she was insulted by the term “bridge to nowhere,” according to Ketchikan Mayor Bob Weinstein, a Democrat, and Mike Elerding, a Republican who was Palin’s campaign coordinator in the southeast Alaska city.
“People are learning that she pandered to us by saying, I’m for this’ ... and then when she found it was politically advantageous for her nationally, abruptly she starts using the very term that she said was insulting,” Weinstein said.
Palin’s spokeswoman in Alaska was not immediately available to comment.
National fury over the bridge caused Congress to remove the earmark designation, but Alaska was still granted an equivalent amount of transportation money to be used at its own discretion.
Last year, Palin announced she was stopping state work on the controversial project, earning her admirers from earmark critics and budget hawks from around the nation. The move also thrust her into the spotlight as a reform-minded newcomer.
The state, however, never gave back any of the money that was originally earmarked for the Gravina Island bridge, said Weinstein and Elerding.
In fact, the Palin administration has spent “tens of millions of dollars” in federal funds to start building a road on Gravina Island that is supposed to link up to the yet-to-be-built bridge, Weinstein said.
“She said ‘thanks but no thanks,’ but they kept the money,” said Elerding about her applause line.
Former state House Speaker Gail Phillips, a Republican who represented the Kenai Peninsula city of Homer, is also critical about Palin’s reversal on the bridge issue.
“You don’t tell a group of Alaskans you support something and then go to someplace else and say you oppose it,” said Phillips, who supported Palin’s opponent, Democrat Tony Knowles, in the 2006 gubernatorial race.
A press release issued by the governor on September 21, 2007 said she decided to cancel state work on the project because of rising cost estimates.
Palin obsession?
“It depicts a strong, energetic, intelligent woman who has not sacrificed her femininity...”
So, you’re going with the “great legs!” response?
Sorry, I don’t pick my Presidens based on the cut of their skirt or the crease in their trowsers.
What a sad day in which we live.
You said: "Hayworth was supporting the tribes position that their lands were sovereign and not subject to US laws like paying federal taxes and being subject to zoning and environmental regulations like every other US business."
Wiki says: "Hayworth was co-chairman of the Native American Caucus in Congress."
Wasn't he just serving his constituents?
You said: "...they gave him so much money he couldnt say no."
Wiki says: "Between 1999 and 2005, Hayworth received $69,000 from lobbyist Jack Abramoff and his clients, primarily from Indian tribes."
I've seen lists of donations received from Abramoff, and $69,000 does not seem like "so much money" by today's standards, or even 1999-2005 standards.
You said: "Hayworth sold his soul to the tribes. Im not saying he is a bad man, Im saying how much are you willing to ignore in your support of the more conservative candidate?"
Wiki says: "Like most Republicans elected in the 1994 landslide, Hayworth was an ardent conservative. He has said he believes border security and interior enforcement of immigration laws are the solutions not a temporary worker program as proposed by President George W. Bush for Mexican illegal aliens... Hayworth said that Bush is too close to GOP contributors from the agribusiness, meat packing and construction industries, who he calls "addicted" to a steady stream of workers from Mexico and Central America to keep wages down. Hayworth also argues that current immigration law misinterprets the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, says that a child of undocumented immigrants born in the U.S. should not be given U.S. citizenship, and advocates the "Americanization" program Henry Ford advocated in an interview with the New York Times in 1914."
I'm not seeing it.
I'm seeing a candidate who was supporting his constituents, who was caught up in a national trend ginned up by the MSM to sweep out Republicans in 2006, and who was excoriated by the major newspaper as a "bully," "bombastic," and "obnoxious" in order to tilt the voters towards the Democrat.
This was exacerbated by the national drumbeat about GOP spending, Bush fatigue, the MSM exaggerated Mark Foley scandal, and Denny Hastert's reaction to it.

Please accept another check, given in honor of closet Palinista, Bob J.

“OK, but you should know that insults like this have no affect on me.”
No, but they have an effect on others.
Have you learned nothing about FR since 2001? Do I need to teach a remedial course on “The Nutz and Bolts of Free Republic”?
To personally attack someone for their thoughts is beneath you Bob.
I'll admit FR has turned into Palin Country but I ask what's wrong with that. I haven't been so enthused about a candidate since Fred Thompson and Ronald Reagan before that. You're resentment of most of ours HOPE that she can CHANGE the face of politics is hard to understand. We'll keep working on some of you I guess. It's a long way till 2012.
An article written when she was campaigning against Barack Obama versus the democratic party’s own record of attacking her for being the one that ended the “Bridge to Nowhere”.
The Alaskan democratic party itself maintained it’s own record on it’s web site on who ended the bridge.
Governor Palin endured the criticism and negative publicity for ending it until it was time to put Obama in the White House, then suddenly the media and the democrats, and big R liberals like Bob J reversed the story.
