Right you are. I lived on the desert floor safe from fire or flood. Until, that is, the fire came over the mountain near Arrowhead and we had mandatory evacuation notice. I moved out of Caliornia 5 years ago.

I am so glad I don't live in an area that has forest fires. We were in Montana in the summer a couple of years ago and the smell of smoke was awful and there was no getting away from it. California mud slides would be bad too as would earth quakes. I live in hurricane country but we don't have one hit us every year and when they do I am not in the surge zone. I'll take hurricanes over forest fires, earth quakes and mudslides any day.
