Perhaps you've missed all of the hoopla concerning the extradition of a British citizen for hacking into US DOD computers?

Can any world government stop such an advanced being, that's capable of doing all those things the flying saucer crowd claims, who supposedly crossed the interstellar distance, from doing anything they please?
That is axactly what I said. If the ETs wanted a public splash, they could make one regardless of what the US government wants.
The UFO secrecy and all of the counterintelligence work comes from the government. People see UFOs because the ETs are not trying to hide. They are not trying to contact rank-and-file people either, at least not in mass. People hear stories that discredit the witnesses because that is what the government does to cover up the ET presence.
Recall that I responded to you saying that the ET isn't doing a good job of hiding. I responded to indicate that the ET is not trying to hide.
We'll obviously be going in circles with this, because where's the pictures? Why don't they slow down or land? Why do we get only ill-defined blobs posted on YouTube as "evidence"? Why are no two "daytime" flying saucers ever alike?

Do you honestly believe the NSA and the CIA have their networks connected to the internet? They are completely closed systems, making hacking impossible. They also have been modified so no data download equipment can be connected to them. Tempest issues became non issues when the reality of what kind of equipment and antennas it took at close range to receive signals. Picking up signals from LCD/CRT displays is possible in a laboratory, but in reality is virtually useless in the real world.
In any case, since our intelligence collection and dissemination is a worldwide issue, how would people outside a particular building get access to the documents? Fly to HQS to visit the reading room? Intelligence is of no value if it can’t be disseminated to the people who need to see it, which was dramatically clear after 911. We had issues with how to disseminate and parochial attitudes about who should see it. Keeping everything on paper in a room would be incredibly counterproductive.
Finally, when the our Embassy in Iran was taken over the paper files could not be destroyed in time to protect our secrets or our people. Kept on hard drives the data can be destroyed in minutes with the proper deqaussing equipment.

I'm not sure where you are looking, but I've seen pictures from the "early years" that bear a strong resemblance to photographs up through the early 2000's. This is one of the reasons I am more prone to believe that these are real sightings. One shape that reoccurs is a disk with a hump on the top and round balls on the bottom.
The triangle and boomerang shapes are the most recent on the scene, and are generally the worst photographs.
The other reasons I tend to believe this stuff is that there are fairly large numbers of credible witnesses who report the same things ... even when they are not followers of UFO lore. Death bed "confessions" are also occurring where retired government personnel wish to get matters off their chests. There are very prestigious people, including US astronauts who plainly state that the ET presence is real. Only a very small number of "nobodies" debunk this stuff. The preponderance of the best evidence and the most intellectual writings tend to support the existence of those ETs.
I started reading this material in the early 1980's; and, there is a lot to sort through. I've had to rework my religious philosophies to include ETs, or just abandon my Faith altogether. I accept ETs as just another of God's Creation, just funny looking people who live a bit farther away than the Chinese. I have come to grips with the notion that our knowledge of physics is far from complete. Earth went through a Dark Ages that lasted over a thousand years. Our technology developed mostly since the early 1900's. Where would we be today if we had not experienced the Dark Ages? Recall that the fall of Rome and the plague were largely responsible for the Dark Ages. It is easy to imagine that other worlds did not duplicate that mishap, only to advance well beyond where we are today. Think about this: Our "high technology" is barely 100 years old. Where would it be if it were 1200 years old?

Even our own government folks now have meds which can cause a recent event to be forgotten.
Certainly the ET critters are well known by most researchers for their methodical efforts to cause their anal probes etc. to be forgotten.
Some have even commented when answering questions rather uncharacteristically candidly that the individual will not remember any of their experiences on the craft.
Indeed, it seems to be quite uncommon statistically that such is the case.
And the issue of trauma causing forgetfulness a la some sort of hysteria induced amnesia is quite . . . passe even in my intro to psych text book. The reality . . . as most folks can attest to . . . is that trauma imprints memory all the more intensely and unforgetably.
Witness those who know where they were still the moment they heard of Kennedy’s assassination . . . and where they were when they heard of 911 etc.

A very fascinating video with a model built . . . at least one corner of the heavy model would lift up about an inch when the devices was turned on.
Back in the 80’s the Soviets had a program called “active measures” in which they would find obscure anti American articles in third world newspapers and feed them to other journalists who were on their payroll. The article would get printed and some of them would eventually make it into the MSM with absolutely no one bothering to check out the veracity of the original source. In many cases, the anti American articles would be planted in the original newspaper by the Soviets themselves (such gems as the CIA created AIDS to kill blacks, and we were importing Egyptian prostitutes into Kuwait for our troops).
