I would prefer proofs to your "guarantee".
You said -- "I don't know how old you are, but I may have been through confirmation class ( in which I was a straight A student and the head of the class ), in the Methodist church long ago. That class was almost an entire year long and we went through the complete history of Judaism, Catholicism, and every single Protestant sect. The final exam was a killer and I easily received an A+ on it, being told that my essay was brilliant. We also had many an oral exams, extensive memorizations to do and be quizzed on, and I excelled at all of them; remembering still, just about every single thing I learned in those classes, to this very day."
Well, congratulations, then. I'm glad you know that the Mormon church teaches non-Christian doctrine and that they are a cult, then.
No more needs to be said -- as long as you know that (and, of course, the others who are reading this).
We seem to finally be narrowing down on the issue of the Mormons being a non-Christian cult and coming to a consensus on the matter.
And that's all the point was -- that people were clear on the fact that Mormonism is a non-Christian cult -- although they may be *very religious* (I'll give them that). They're just not "Christian" in the baisc and historic tradition and teachings of the Christian church at large.

His fantastical claims have all been debunked and some of them by the SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION. Go read up on what they have to say abnout him.
And no, the entirety of Christendom does NOT back him up. Methodist do NOT consider Mormonism to be a "cult". Nor, for that matter, Hinduism and Buddhism either.
You said -- "And YOU are a fool!"
Ooops, and that is a big "ooops", too. You better look up what Jesus Christ said about that. It could be big trouble, sorry to say....

LOL We had the same! Our pastor was a slave driver and he taught the classes. We were scared to death of him. PLUS my Dad was on the Council that quizzed us and I was a nervous WRECK. Lutherans took catechism (confirmation) classes VERY VERY seriously!
Are you now telling me that Methodism is a cult?
In Christian terms -- *anything* that departs from the core and standard beliefs (which are considered *essential*) is a *cult*.
If you want to say that *you* don't accept anything as being *Christian* that deviates from certain, specific standards that you hold as sacrosanct - I really have no problem with that. When you decide to use a derogatory term like *cult* and can't back it up - can't even back it up using a dictionary - I think it places you out of the mainstream. I do wonder how old you are? Sometimes in youth - always, never, black and white thinking - help one to deal with fear and anxiety about a world that they just can't make sense of.
I haven't seen posts of someone claiming that *all* theologians agree with their view. That's a pretty difficult statement to back up :-)
Do *all* Christian theologians in the entire universe agree with you, too? :-)
Come on, now's the time to get this out on the open.
You said -- "pssst you forgot the part about the devil's brother.....
you're slipping!"
I was just trying to be polite and not embarass anyone too badly...

LOL
Do they formally list Mormonism as a *cult*?
But, nonetheless, we've been told that they *all* every single one of them:-) agrees with the star traveler :-)
You said -- "I'll call your bluff. Prove it."
Do a google search on Mormonism and cult and also the Christian faith and its basic tenets. You'll find all the information you need there, plus a lot of books on the subject.
You'll have to do the reading, however...

P.S. -- "The information is out there...."
PPS -- I take that to mean that you're not a Christian, obviously, or you would already know that...
Wanna play with this some more, do you?
You said -- "Some care, some don't. That's the way of the world. Good night."
That's cool.. fine with me...

I don't believe all Christians believe Mormonism to be a cult. Not Christian is one thing...a cult another entirely.
There are definatly cults WITHIN the Mormon beliefs...offshoots. I have somewhat of a personal experience with one of them. Living near Kirtland, Ohio (holy Mormon ground) draws them like flies to honey.
Does any of this really matter? No. We have the freedom to worship our toenail clippings if we choose. That's the American way!
So if there is *one* Christian church that laughs at the book - you are disproven, right?
And yes, Jesus would think it perfectly fine for me to call a fool a fool, when faced by one.
I mean in this whole immigration issue, which conservatives constantly raise a security issue issue and not merely racism against hispanics, no one brings up Canada.
The border with Canada is vastly more dangerous than the one with Mexico.
There was a great piece in the Hoover Institution about the immigration issue and Canada/Mexico and how it's really a cover for the threat of Islam but it's un PC to say that and it's acceptable to use Mexicans as scapegoats.

You can just about ANYTHING on line. That does NOT mean that it is true, factual, nor correct.
