It most certainly is not. If Talent and Allen were horrible candidates that didn't act like conservatives, you might be right, but they are conservatives, and conservatives who say they give a d**n about conservative values, but didn't vote for them are a joke and let them get trounced. For your analogy to be accurate, it would have to be something like, this election is like chuch members not defending their Pastor when he's wrongly accused of things he didn't do. The whole d**n country just got Macaca'd and it's because a few coupld hundred thousand STUPID voters in three or four states screwed up and threw Republican candidates under the bus couldn't care less if the liberals screw a lot of things up the next two years. There's no guarantee that Bush will veto ANYTHING from the Democrat Congress. I hope people are prepared to live with this vote. Because it's repercussions will be long lived and it's hurt the conservative movement. Anyone who really cared about the national conservative movement and the welfare of the country and our military at war, more than their own ego would have thought of that ahead of time.
LOL! Take at look at MY take...

Heck of a rant
That we can agree on!
BOOKMARKED AND BUMPED!
These guys are going to need to lay in a serious supply of Midol and Tampons.
I can't wait till Stevens retires and Bush is forced to put up a gutless Kennedy/O'Conner-esque moderate because he knows a Democrat Senate will never see a Scalia or Thomas type nominee on the floor for a vote. I wonder how smug and arrogant the cut and run conservative voters will be when that happens and it sinks in that it's ALL THEIR FAULT!!! Was passing on the lesser of two evils worth kissing goodbye the next Supreme Court nomination? Because that's what happened last night. Stevens is 86 and in failing health and will not make it to '08. Ginsburg isn't much better at 74 with a history of cancer. Face it, the conservatives who lost sight of the REAL enemy blew it and blew the chance to make the court really conservative, maybe for a decade or more. That's the reality that some poeple need to swallow. They made this s**t sandwich, when Stevens retires they'll have to eat it!
I say it's time for purge of the Libertarian nutjobs and "dissident" conservatives here that were cheering for a GOP loss.
It's better for your heart and for your soul, to try to see the rainbow, which is that the Democrats will now have 2 years to flock it up beyond all recognition, after which the 2008 elections will be smooth sailing for the good guys!
.
awesome rant
That's one thing I'm hoping for. The liberals when left to their devices can't help but be themselves, and that will, if they do it, leave a bad taste in most Americans mouths, like a kid that thinks that want baker's chocolate, then get some and decide it wasn't as good as it looked. I hope ana pray that's the case in 2008. If not, the Democrats are back in power to stay. Last time they took the Congress is was 50 years before they lost it again. They don't let it go easily since they think they're entitled to be the only party of power ever.
Good rant, mirroring much of my own thoughts.
Ok please. If you can't say something more substantial than I sound like a DUer then shut up please. That's so lame. This is now a political ebb and flow. The Democrats controlled the Congress for 50 years, with a four year Senate GOP majority during Reagan, now after just 12 short years, the GOP lost it back resoundingly! It wasn't a little loss it was a spanking. You shouldn't be relaxed, you should be p****d. I wouldn't give a hoot in h**l for a man who loses and then smiles about it. And I quote Patton directly. He was right about that.
Soooo, Allen said Macaca which he didn't even mean as a racial slur, and that's bad, but you're okay with Webb, Clinton liberal who in his own book, called black people "monkey-faces" and "n*****s", and that's okay. try hard, you might could be a little more hypocritical. Give it a shot. Allen didn't do anything that warranted losing his seat. The media screwd him just like they do to any conservative who isn't perfect. If he was a Democrat, he'd be the one elected. West Virginia just re-elected a KKK grand wizzard for the umpteenth time and he's a Democrat, no one cares about that and he never apologized for it and used the "n" word just a few years ago on tape. Care to guess how many Republicans in Congress ever belonged to the KKK? Um, NONE! If you can't identify or admit blatant hypocrisy that went on in this election, you shouldn't comment on it.
I'm not going off the deep end either, but the problem is, the Democrat pendulum swings for several decades. The Republican decade had barely ten years, and didn't control the Senate in the middle for a couple years. We barely got equal time, and in the 90s, Clinton was Peesident TWICE. The GOP hardly had the hold that the Democrats did on most any decade from the 40s through the 80s. There's no comparison.
Indignation is good...but never let 'em see you cry...I won't give 'em the satisfaction.
"For months they have been bitching about our President and how our side wasn't working well. Guess what? Now it's THEIR turn to produce!"
Hey She, the Dems will not be held accountable as long as GWB is still in office. There is no positive angle to these results. The "conservatives" that allowed this to happen are in the same camp as JFnK, they have stabbed the troops in the back.
I'm betting that you weren't in that group.
