Libs, and yes that includes RINOs, confuse kool-aid with facts.

Here are some FACTS:

Also, Regarding Terri’s care, according to Cindy Shook, Michael's girlfriend 1 1/2 years after Terri was hurt, Michael Schiavo said:
"How the hell should I know we never spoke about this, my God I was only 25 years old. How the hell should I know? We were young. We never spoke of this."

Wesley Smith: What I find terribly ironic, is that in 1998, Terri had more than $700K in her trust account to pay for her care. The bulk of this money instead went to lawyer George Felos and other attorneys, to help end her life.
The government's job is to protect the lives of its citizens. That is why, for example, we have government-funded suicide prevention centers.
http://www.courttv.com/talk/chat_transcripts/2005/0324schiavo-debate.html

The following is nothing, but emotional blackmail. If Terri's parents showed videos that they had of Terri, they would not have been allowed to visit her.

Read this:

http://www.cnsnews.com/pdf/2003/bushnell.pdf

THIS shows that Michael Schiavo, and his nutty friends, DID NOT want the truth to get outabout Terri's cognitive abilities. Terri was severely brain damaged, but NOT brain dead.

Again, this is BLACKMAIL!

And Michael had his own parents killed. He admitted it on national tv on Larry King's shows.

http://www.sweetliberty.org/bulletins/terri/lkl1.htm

CALLER: Yes. Does it bother you that the death is so slow? Maybe Dr. Kevorkian-style would be a faster, more peaceful way?

SCHIAVO: Removing somebody's feeding is very painless. It is a very easy way to die. Probably the second better way to die, being the first being an aneurysm.
And it doesn't bother me at all. I've seen it happen.

I had to do it with my own parents.

That last part was even more eerie when you could see his sick smirk. He seemed to be really enjoying the memory of killing his parents.

Nice distortion job, Sun...of course, anyone who reads ALL the information will come to a much different conclusion. Yeah, it was a big "Kill Terri" conspiracy...whatever...keep dreaming...and Michael didn't have his parents killed...that's just stupid.

In 1992, Michael Schiavo filed a medical malpractice suit on behalf of his wife and himself. He alleged that Dr. G. Stephen Igel, an obstetrician whom the couple had been seeing in their efforts to conceive, missed symptoms of Terri's eating disorder, which led to her collapse, and subsequent condition. They won the case.

In 1992, Michael, on behalf of his wife and himself, brought a medical malpractice lawsuit against G. Stephen Igel, the obstetrician who had been treating Schiavo for infertility, claiming that his failure to test for an eating disorder had led to her current condition. During the trial, at least one of Schiavo's friends testified that they believed she was bulimic because after meals out, she always immediately excused herself to go to the bathroom. Michael also said that he had noticed some peculiar eating habits (such as drinking about a gallon of iced tea a day, eating a huge omelette or practically all of a pizza on Sundays) but had received no indication that she had any kind of psychological problem or eating disorder. At the conclusion of the trial, the jury found for the Schiavos and awarded Mrs. Schiavo $1,600,000 in damages and Michael $600,000 for loss of consortium. While on appeal, the case was settled (May 1992) for $700,000 and $300,000, respectively. The court placed Mrs. Schiavo's award in a trust fund, which was controlled by a third party and covered her medical and legal expenses.

During the malpractice trial, Michael testified that he began studying nursing at St. Petersburg College around 1991. When asked why, he explained:

Q: Why did you want to learn to be a nurse?
MS: Because I enjoy it and I want to learn more how to take care of Terri.
Q: You're a young man. Your life is ahead of you. When you look up the road, what do you see for yourself?
MS: I see myself hopefully finishing school and taking care of my wife.
Q: Where do you want to take care of your wife?
MS: I want to bring her home.
Q: If you had the resources available to you, if you had the equipment and the people, would you do that?
MS: Yes, I would, in a heartbeat.
Q: How do you feel about being married to Terri now.
MS: I feel wonderful. She's my life and I wouldn't trade her for the world. I believe in my marriage vows.
Q: You believe in your wedding vows, what do you mean by that?
MS: I believe in the vows I took with my wife, through sickness, in health, for richer or poor. I married my wife because I love her and I want to spend the rest of my life with her. I'm going to do that."
Eventually, he became a respiratory therapist and emergency room nurse.

Yeah...he's a real cold-blooded killer...

Yes, he is. When a man "remembers" that his wife would not want to live that way AFTER he received the malpractice $$, any thinking person should smell a rat.

Wrong...he admitted no such thing...he was merely remarking about how his parents died.

If Michael really did murder his parents, why didn't he go to prison for it? Let me guess...it's all a part of the "Kill Terri" conspiracy...

You make me laugh...

Right...that's why he spent all his $$$ on her care over many years...because he wanted her dead...gotta love your pretzel logic...

You left out part of the testimony.

Q: Why did you want to learn to be a nurse?
MS: Because I enjoy it and I want to learn more how to take care of Terri.
Terri didn't have an eating disorder.

Q: You're a young man. Your life is ahead of you. When you look up the road, what do you see for yourself?
MS: I see myself hopefully finishing school and taking care of my wife.
Don't let her hold that rag to prevent contractures. That's therapy.

Q: Where do you want to take care of your wife? MS: I want to bring her home.
I'm going to buy a yacht. I'm going to be rich.

Q: If you had the resources available to you, if you had the equipment and the people, would you do that?
MS: Yes, I would, in a heartbeat.
How the hell should I know we never spoke about this, my God I was only 25 years old. How the hell should I know? We were young. We never spoke of this.

Q: How do you feel about being married to Terri now.
MS: I feel wonderful. She's my life and I wouldn't trade her for the world. I believe in my marriage vows. Q: You believe in your wedding vows, what do you mean by that?
When is that bitch gonna die?

MS: I believe in the vows I took with my wife, through sickness, in health, for richer or poor. I married my wife because I love her and I want to spend the rest of my life with her. I'm going to do that."
I kept my promise.

Maybe you're getting tired, or something, but you're just not getting it. Michael used legal homicide to have BOTH of his parents killed and Terri. See a pattern here?

He's not in jail, because it was LEGAL HOMICIDE, backed by ACTIVIST judges, just like abortion.

"The Schindlers question why Michael Schiavo only belatedly recalled his wife's "casual statements" allegedly refusing life support. Specifically, they point out he changed his story after winning nearly $2 million dollars in a medical-malpractice lawsuit against Terri's physicians who, Schiavo successfully argued, should have treated her potassium imbalance before it resulted in cardiac arrest. As WND reported, Michael Schiavo filed a petition in May 1998 to disconnect his wife's feeding tube reportedly to carry out her wishes.

During the malpractice-suit trial nearly six years earlier in November 1992, Michael Schiavo made no mention of his wife's alleged wish to die and conversely pleaded for the opportunity to personally take care of his wife at home for the rest of his life. He sought $20 million to cover the cost of her future medical and neurological care, estimating her life expectancy was 50 years.

Schiavo told the jury he was studying nursing because he wanted "to learn more how to take care of Terri." According to a transcript of his testimony, Michael Schiavo was asked how he felt about being married to Terri, given her condition.

"I feel wonderful. She's my life and I wouldn't trade her for the world," he replied. "I believe in my wedding vows. ... I believe in the vows I took with my wife, through sickness, in health, for richer or poor. I married my wife because I love her and I want to spend the rest of my life with her. I'm going to do that."

Wrong, Sun, wrong...

Here are the facts:

Terri Schiavo entered a vegetative state in 1990 after adopting an "iced tea diet" (related to her bulimia), resulting in a disastrous potassium deficiency that caused irreversible brain damage. In this persistent vegetative state she remained the last fifteen years of her life, neurological tests indicating that her cerebral cortex was principally liquid.

Both Schiavo's doctors and her court-appointed doctors expressed the opinion that there existed no hope of rehabilitation. Her husband, Michael Schiavo, stated that it was his wife's wish that she not be kept alive through unnatural, mechanical means. Michael Schiavo wanted life support (her feeding tube) removed, after which Terri would slowly die of malnutrition and dehydration. By this time Michael had taken a new lover, but refused to divorce Terri, as doing so would have forfeited his right to determine her care.

More than twenty times the Schiavo case was heard in Florida courts. Every time, the court ruled that the decision was her husband's to make, upholding the sanctity of marriage long respected by legal precedent. Schiavo's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, refused to accept this verdict, feeling in their hearts that their daughter would somehow recover. Of this struggle, Schiavo's attorney, George Felos told the Associated Press, "The real grievance is not they [the Schindlers] did not have a day in court, that they did not have due process. The real grievance is they disagree with the result."

The Schindler family videotaped Schiavo for extended periods of time, discarding nearly all of the footage, and prepared a short but disingenuous "highlight" video featuring only the occasional moments when her facial expression looked vaguely like a smile, or when family members were posing where Schiavo seemed to be staring, giving the illusion of "eye contact."

In 2003, a court-appointed guardian for Schiavo wrote that during the protracted legal struggle, her parents had "voiced the disturbing belief that they would keep Terri alive at any and all costs", even if that required amputation of her limbs. "As part of the hypothetical presented", the guardian's report stated, "Schindler family members stated that even if Terri had told them of her intention to have artificial nutrition withdrawn, they would not do it."

Politicians inserted themselves into the fray. The case was the catalyst for Florida's controversial "Terri's Law", which gave Gov. Jeb Bush the authority to have Schiavo's feeding tube re-inserted when a court ruled that her husband could have it removed. It was a tremendously sad family situation, undoubtedly painful for everyone involved (except, of course, the vegetable Terri Schiavo).

This circus continued for years, co-opted by the pro-life movement. Many who never met Terri Schiavo argued passionately about her fate, protested court decisions, published newsletters or websites. Among the loudest hysterics, many argued in a fundamentally dishonest way, using tactics such as referring to Schiavo as Terri Schindler (maiden name), or Terri Schiavo-Schindler (a form she never used).

Terri's doctors opinion was that Schiavo's coma had been caused by a potassium imbalance triggered by her bulimia. Nutball "save Terri" activists knew better, and claimed she suffered a violent beating at her husband's hand. Her parents eventually agreed, and said that her husband often beat Schiavo when she was healthy -- but Schiavo never called the police, apparently never mentioned it to anyone, and her parents never mentioned it either until years after Schiavo was hospitalized. There is no evidence to support such claims.

As the insanity moved to the federal level, Schiavo's feeding tube was finally removed on March 18, 2005, and her heart stopped beating 13 days later. The Schindlers claimed that as the tube was withdrawn, Schiavo blurted, "I want to live!" But just this once, they had apparently forgotten to bring the video camera.

The U.S. Congress quickly passed legislation allowing federal courts to intervene, and President George W. Bush flew back to Washington to sign the bill into law. It should be noticed that this is the same George W. Bush who, as Governor of Texas, signed into state law the power of hospitals to remove a patient (in identical situations as Terri's) from life support -- a critical factor being the family's ability to pay the hospital bills -- even if such removal was against the family's objections.

House Majority Leader Tom DeLay lied for national newscasts that Schiavo "talks and she laughs, and she expresses happiness and discomfort... It won’t take a miracle to help Terri Schiavo; it will only take the medical care and therapy that all patients deserve." But in 1988, DeLay had concurred in his own family's decision to withhold care for his comatose father.

According to Schiavo's husband, "It is an invasion of the American people when you make a family matter public. This is what Terri wanted, this is Terri's wish. It's not President Bush's wish. Have they ever met her? What color are her eyes? What's her middle name? What's her favorite color? They don't have any clue who Terri is. They should all be ashamed of themselves."

A man was arrested in Florida after trying to steal a weapon from a gun shop, hoping to "take some action and rescue Terri Schiavo." Another man was arrested for offering a $250,000 bounty for Michael Schiavo's murder. Organized protesters flooded the Florida Department of Children & Families hotline, all reporting over and over again that Terri Schiavo was being murdered. Even Jesse Jackson elbowed into the cameras' eye, suddenly passionate about a matter that hadn't interested him until the network news staffs arrived. Dozens of people were arrested one-by-one for trying to enter Schiavo's hospice and bring bottled water to this woman who couldn't swallow.

In a final postscript to Schiavo's short life, the autopsy conducted after her death established that her brain damage was even worse than experts had said while she was alive, and that virtually everything the "save Terri" activists had said was wrong. Schiavo's brain weighed about half what a healthy human brain weighs, damage that left her unable to think, feel, see, or interact in any way with her environment. There was no chance she could have recovered, and no evidence she had ever been abused.

Your illogical, religion-based fervor doesn't change reality. I'm glad your side lost. Religious zealots make me want to puke. Get a life.

That is all.

Crist initially drew the ire of pro-life advocates when he voted against a 24 hour waiting period for abortions when he was a state Senator. That action and his reluctance to take a clear pro-life stance in the gubernatorial election, prompted Florida Right to Life to endorse Gallagher in the September primary.

http://www.lifenews.com/state1803.html

Charlie Crist didn't even want a 24-hour waiting period, so that young women wouldn't be pressured into having an abortion.

Charlie Crist is not pro-life; he is a phony.

Charlie Crist is pro-SPECIAL right for gays.

Besides the social issues, Charlie is liberal on other issues, which I have shown in my previous posts, such as post #461.

Conservative voters need to be more careful before pulling that lever. I do hope this doesn't happen in the POTUS Republican primary.
