Are you the rare FairTaxer who says that workers' gross pay will be reduced to current take-home levels? If so, take it up with your FairTax buddies, none of them will admit that this is even remotely possible. I have discussed this esact scenario on those threads I directed you too.
I think that the only way that the FT made any sense is for people to get a pay cut to current take-home, but that idea was ridiculed by the FairTaxers. Since the FairTax authorities have made "Keep 100% of your paycheck" one of their rallying cries, I think it will be hard to take that away now, and contracts are also a big sticking point.
If I can prove that you have two screen names, you never again post to FreeRepublic under any screen name? If I can't prove it I leave.
They still do if they file a return. The Fair Tax entitlement program would provide no such yearly accounting to retail buyers stuck with the 30% federal sales tax.
ANYTHING has to be better than this system we've got.
Federal, state, local, sales, property, air, gas, death, everything, etc., etc., and on and on.
I want a one-tax system for state, fed, and local.
Today, someone earning 26400 gets income taxed and payroll taxed. His purchasing power is below 26400 but you still say he gets 26400 in goods. OK. Well then why does someone who pays their taxes later not get the same?
You are playing games trying to omit the reduction in buying power that the income tax causes. Why do you recognize the reduction caused by the nrst but not the reduction caused by the income tax system?
You must be hard of hearing, or you are just ignoring what I am saying. Also, if you do not support the Fair Tax then what tax plan do you support?
The point is irrelevant to the present discussion the problems and merits of the FairTax, but it is answered fully on those threads in which I discuss "The FairTax Book" at great length..
Can I get a a good AMEN!!!!!?
That would be an eye opener eh? Think that would put downward pressure on taxes and gov't spending!?
Agreed.
The Roscoe account has been closed for years.
Now take your accusations to the mods.
And assuming you're honest, adios.
That is ridiculous in the extreme. ANYTHING is better than the present system where we have an economy that is roaring along, as well as an overall standard of living greater than anything the world has ever seen. Plus, it is continuing to improve.
And you think that ANYTHING is better than the present system?

Reading it verbatim that seems to be the case because no explicit poverty qualification is mentioned. Under the definition of "Qaulified Family" it isn't explicitly demanded.
Translation: Nope, I've never read the Fair Tax book or really studied this issue and I'm just talking out my wazoo.
2. Can I get a a good AMEN!!!!!?
Completely centralized government AND a national monthly entitlement check for everyone.
Fascinating.
So, the FairTax on a new home will only apply to actual construction costs and not profit? For instance, if a contractor spends $150,000 for materials and labor and sells the home for $500,000, only $150,000 will be subject to tax, not the entire $500,000 selling price?
Bye Mojave/Roscoe. Excuse me, Mojave, aka/fka Roscoe.
You don't know much about the FairTax, do you?
Thanks for your last post on FR.
Finally, you admit the truth.
I thought the discussion was about the tax system. Excuse me for commenting if I'm wrong. The title said it was about the tax system, and not the economy.
If, however, this thread IS about the tax system, then let me repeat: ANYTHING is better than this tax system with its millions of pages of rulings and code and comments and ins and outs and abuses.
It is incoherent, incomprehensible, and a tremendous drain on ME. And I could give a rat's a$$ if corporations with teams of lawyers know how to flex it to their advantage.
Rat's Behind! And I'm serious. I HATE IT!
