Why Americans Don't Like Soccer

(3) As for the game itself - I can think of no other sport less socialist than soccer.

I don't know whether anyone will pay attention to this post, since it seems the topic was abandoned sometimes in July, but I just joined Free Republic, and would like to make a few comments here.

First, if you are reading this, great post. Still, explanations, reasoning will not make a sport popular. The immense popularity of soccer all over the world, not for the reasons you listed, but because it is cheap. All it takes is one round object to play it, which may not even have to be a ball. I remember when I was growing up on the streets of Budapest (Hungary). As kids, after the school, we just stopped on the way home, put down four objects to represent the goalposts,found something what rolled and the game was on.

That immense simplicity what made soccer so popular around the world.

I have more remarks, but let's see first if anyone still paying attention.
