Quite a few years ago I was acquainted with BC's former long-time president, John Silber. Dr. Silber was and I believe still is a prickly fellow, who suffered no academic nonsense. He positively gloated about the university's fine academic achievements. It must grieve him to see BC skid into liberal oblivion under Leahy. When you see Catholic theology teachers recommending the murder of a helpless disabled woman, you know the place is rotting away.

"Death with dignity" is defined as slowly torturing a helpless, innocent, disabled person to death. Executing a convicted murderer by painless lethal injection is defined as "cruel and unusual punishment."

NOW do you understand?

Hey, it sure has been used that way. Just yesterday, there was whining about the use of an injection for a killer to be an inhumane method - and it was said with a straight face.

A mind unanchored in God is mad, or on its way to going mad. If you won't have God, said Chesterton, the danger is not that you will believe in nothing, but rather, that you will believe in anything. Orwell likewise observed that some theories are so crazy, only intellectuals will believe them. (Have you ever read Kos?) Liberal talking heads have never gotten their own feet on the ground but think they understand the whole world. They are forever children.

T'wit's Rule for this (T'wit always has a rule :-) ) is, nobody should discuss politics or social policy until he has successfully raised a family and presented sane, responsible children to the world. Translation: you don't know nuttin' about life and reality unless you've dealt with kids, teens, grandkids, the seasons of life, in-laws, human relations, moral rules, personal responsibility, and why your tweeny daughter CANNOT pierce her nose and wear skirts that short.
