If they don't like the procedure, then they've got no one to blame but themselves.

This is so ofter the case with Congress, but it doesn't seem to stop them from bloviating. The ancient MSM repeats their hate-Bush accusations over and over until they are as good as true for the general public.

Gee more of this crap. I'd put money that the UAE human rights record is above any in the middle east and better then alot of countries we deal with.
Just because it doesn't operate as a democracy at the highest level doesn't mean people aren't free. IPI describes the UAE greatest press problem as one of self censorship.
http://www.freemedia.at/wpfr/Mena/uae.htm
We're also talking of one of the most moderate governments in the region. Internet blocking. Yeah they do, of porn and also radical islamic ideas, imagine that an arab country blocking interact access to jihadists websites....damn we've gotta stop dealing with those type of country's.
The UAE is a leader of women's rights within the islamic world. Women can go to college, work, take governmental posistions. Hell they even lead in the ability for women to get divorced not to mention literate women outnumber literate males in the country.

If Iraq turned out as good as the UAE then we would have done the world a great service!

It's like an FR version of popping bubble wrap...

And just like in the real world, there seems to be an endless supply. ;-)

"Rove really screwed up big time."are you suggesting he knew about it before it was done? Bush claims ignorance. So does Rumsfeld and Chertoff(sp). But Rove knew?

"they are subject to criminal prosecution, imprisonment, and deportation if found proselytizing or distributing religious literature to Muslims."

Try doing this, and see just how factual it is.

Isnt that the truth. Its seems people love living in the UAE. Including American citizens. Incredible. I have actually read alot of bloggers from the UAE. There critical of the Govt at times. So much misinformation. The UAE was a little fishing nothing area. In 35 years its the wall street of the Middle east/ Incredible. IF IRaq could be like this it would be awesome

To find out that 80% are being operated by non-US managment companies, that is an outrage. The new 45-day reevaluation is appropriate, but in the end I don't know if its going to be anything more then just cover for Bush and the GOP.

Whats more of a outrage is that you believe this. It simply untrue. Ports are owned by the state county and city where the port is located. They are managed by the state, county or city port authority. Don't believe it , pick up the phone and call any port.

No this post will remain BS. Couldn't find a single fact in the post. Just twisted opinion.

Wee bit hostile aren't we. Everything the author says about the UAE seems to be true. He quotes the State Department;seems to be true.

State Department website on UAE http://www.state.gov/g/drl/rls/hrrpt/2004/41734.htm

", the UAE "has been fueling the insurgency in Iraq. They have hosted a lot of the Sunni insurgent supporters and Sunni insurgents."

This is BS

If no abortion is your standard for a good place, perhaps you'd be happier there.

In the end and no matter the outcome, it will show that democracy works. Even if there was/is any "political" motives involved, the fact that we can all debate, disagree, and take a step back to look at something is what the democratic practice is. It's not always perfect, but that's democracy.

You mean my Senator might be questioning how this deal was reached? Oh my gosh, string him up and lets hang him. How dare he question this President. Sarcasm off/

Just imitating others I hear around here who bash and trash anyone who dares question this President. Anyway, good for Senator Inhofe on trying to correct the procedure so this does not happen again, no matter how this one turns out.
