You've obviously lost track of the subject of this thread.

UAE plays both sides , they always have and I've mistrusted them long before 9/11. Something doesn't sit right with this whole deal .

I wasn't aware that the ports were staffed with illegal aliens.

In that post I was talking about illegals working at a Nuke plant. As far as I know they can work anywhere someone is wiling to hire them.

There's no way in hell that I'm wading through this thread to find out the latest on this story but I can tell you this: Maryland Governor Bob Ehrlich went on local talk radio today and said that he is not going to knee-jerk like Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley (his opponent soon) and say that DPW would get the contract over "his dead body."

He went on to say that this contract has existed longer than most people care to learn and that the transfer of a private agreement, while subject to federal review, must be honored until he hears otherwise.

He asked for a delay to learn as much as he could about the process and cautioned Marylanders to not (once again) let the press lead them by the nose. Finally, he added that at the very least this event has made Marylanders learn more about port operations than they would care to know. And in the long run, that's not so bad.

You will NEVER get Port security in Miami without regime change...in Miami. That's what makes this whole debate pointless. Nobody at the national level will challenge the locals in Miami. If you do you cannot win national office.

The only good think about the UAE is the are not so kind to petty crooks. But even the jihadies are a match for the corruption that is Miami.

The Governors of TX and CA have at least made attempts to turn that southern spigot off.

And you became a comedian when? LOL....

Funny, I was commenting to friends over here earlier that *YOU* come disguised as some sort of Angel of Republican Light when it seems like you're working to bring the house down on the head of the Republican Party.

When you get together with friends, you say some pretty stupid stuff. I know how that works.

Does anyone really know anybody? I believe many here are paid hacks of one lobbying stripe or another, and obviously would never admit it.

The future won't change. The only thing that will change is President Bush will be gone in 2 years, and the British port company will be bought out by a UAE firm. No president has the power to stop the sale of two foreign companies.

DO TRY to follow the thread. This is NOT about President Reagan. I don't appreciate your snarky post and cheap shot one bit.

You doubted a conservative could support reparations. There's your proof.

I do appreciate the irony.

Why the hell should I have to dig dig dig to try and put the pieces together?

Hopefully, somewhere along the way, you'll treat us to some solid facts instead of conspiratorial conjecture.

Don't be ridiculous and couch a cognizant argument... They are not my stats...and they are not useless... The only thing useless is your comments on my 'useless' stats...

CLUE: Bush has not vetoed a single piece of legislation...

CLUE: The chart from the heritage foundation was posted to illustrate that.

CLUE: Your post does nothing to undermine those facts...

I said Presidency, not nomination loss.

RINOs, in the end, are the same death offered by Rats, just a few thousand cuts more.

Ehrlich's press conference was on Fox News, with Michael Steele standing right behind him, for quite an extended period today, too.

But if the Dims and the Republicans are both against this insanity, can't they do anything?

I read where they are going to have "hearings"...Why would they do this if the game is over?

Just trying to have a little hope.

Evidently you missed my post up the thread:

When you said this:

Actually, I did it to see what ridiculous excuses you'd come up with to convince people to vote for a man who preached family values, while he turned his back on his own daughter.

I find it ironic hearing you say that. I won't go into the reasons why here.

What did you mean to imply.

Now put up or apologize.

I am completely serious, although I didn't say what you suggest I meant.

This deal was a business deal between stockholders of a foreign company, and another foreign company. We didn't ask P&O to put itself up for sale. We didn't ask DP World to bid for it. We didn't ask other companies to bid, or to not bid.

We had nothing to do with the sale.

When a deal was reached, U.S. law required the government to examine the sale to ensure there were no security issues. I am certain this was a serious and involved process as you suggest. But that is the ANALYSIS of a deal already made, and does not mean we had anything to DO with the deal.

If you take the SAT, I can grade your paper. I give you the grade, but I have nothing to do with your score.

I was merely trying to correct one of the many misconceptions -- that Bush made a DEAL with the UAE to sell them our ports.
