Yep...what you said...I agree. Deepak went looking for Joran after Beth and Jug got to the island. I forget...what time was it when Paulus called Joran? Early morning hours? On a school night...two nights in a row? Paulus needs to put a bell around that boy's neck.

joran stated the time of paulus' (and deepaks) calls to kim on Gretas interview with him, and I've forgotten if we know wxactly what time Croes inquired of the teenagers, but it was BEFORE he went to VDS home....for sure, paulus called joran shortly after that.....deepak may have called before or after paulus call to joran.

I don;t want to state times without looking to find citations......sequence is what I am looking at here.....

I'm trying to re-read the transcript, but he only answers that they had already left the Radisson headed to another casino. Greta didn't ask him what time that was.

VAN SUSTEREN: So you get the phone call from your father. Were you at the table when you got the call?

VAN DER SLOOT: When I got the phone call? No, we were — I — we'd actually left already, and we were going to the car to go to another casino, and that's when we got that phone call.

VAN SUSTEREN: Where were you planning to go?

VAN DER SLOOT: We were planning to go to, in town, the Excelsior casino there. Or not the Excelsior — the Crystal (ph) casino there.

VAN SUSTEREN: All right. So when you're standing at the car, did he say anything to you all? Did he ask you about the night before? Did he discuss the night before?

VAN DER SLOOT: No, he didn't — he didn't ask me anything.

but my best guess is that both deepak and paulus called joran 11:30-midnite....possibly call-waiting on jorans phone was in play.....5 minutes between the kids at the beach and Croes arrival at VDS home.....long enough for deepak to have gotten the word thru the kids

There it is! Deepak had already called him and actually arrived at jorans location when paulus called.

Yeah...I already knew that. But, the reason Deepak was even there at all, I think, was because he knew Natalee's family was there and they were looking for Joran. Joran said himself that it was unusual for them to hang out together two nights in a row.

yes, thats the whole point......paulus said "stay there, we're coming to pick you up".....right then deepak and joran knew they had a serious prob and split to scheme.....and paulus and the entourage wasted time driving to and from the casino and looking for joran at the casino.......so deepak and joran had maybe as much as 20-30 minutes alone together from the time they knew the baloon went up until the entourage got back to paulus house to confront joran and (unexpectedly) deepak. Unfortunate for paulus, joran, and deepak, their first words and everything they said was at that time in front of witnesses and paulus had no chance to coach them until afterward.......

That's an interesting situation. Paulus probably didn't know Deepak was with Joran. As I posted earlier, Joran said he was with some other friends. So why would Joran just leave those friends and go with Deepak? If Paulus was involved in or knew about the events of the night before, what do you think he would have been thinking at that point? I think Beth even said that Paulus told him to wait there, not sure about that though.

So why not just say...come home? How would Paulus know he was with Deepak unless Joran told him during the phone call? This is one of the things that makes me believe Paulus knew about the night before. I think Joran and Deepak were working on there story and Paulus was buying time. I wonder if he thought Joran and Deepak might just try to make some kind of run for it...you know...hide out for a while? Maybe not, but that whole ordeal was strange.

Does anyone out there have a copy of or link to a transcript of the Primetime interview with Joran? There are a couple of things I want to cross reference from Greta's interview, but I cannot find a copy of that transcript. I've looked all over but haven't seen one. (It's probably right in front of me but I'm not seeing it. Getting old is startin' to suck)

VAN DER SLOOT: No, I thought that. And then that's when — you know, when I hung up, I said, OK, we're coming — we're coming home. And so then I — when I hung up the phone, I was, like — I was, like, you know, (DELETED), and I talked to Deepak and then I just told him what my dad just said on the phone. And he was, like — he was, like, (DELETED), too. And then that's when we — that's when we made up a story to say, you know, that we didn't — that we dropped her off at the Holiday Inn.

I am reminded by pm that it looks like the scenario described by C Croes early on occured well after midnite. Does joran say what time paulus or deepak called him at the casino?

here is what imaketypos pointed out.....it appears Croes was busy as a result of his major friend, and later as a result of the kids on the beach:

CHARLES CROES, TALKED TO DUTCH SUSPECT: A major friend of mine called me up. He was working with Natalee's mom to help them find Natalee........................

VAN SUSTEREN: About what time did he call you?

C. CROES: He called me at 11:30.

deepak isn't even mentioned by Croes.....

C. CROES: When we got back, all of us got back to the Van der Sloot home, Joran was there, as well as the father, of course. And then Joran came out, spoke to the police.

VAN SUSTEREN: When you first saw Joran and his father, where were there and where were you?

C. CROES: They were standing by the gate area. And I was arriving in the car I was driving, and I saw them. And then I parked the car, and got out, and walked over to the side.

I assumed they were standing by the gate area meant Juron and Deepak, but rereading it you have to wonder if the they is Juron and his father.

Whatever possessed Joran to tell the Kalpoe brothers that Natalee asked if they were his slaves? That has left me with another big question mark. Is this typical of a 17-year-old, who sees himself as someone beyond this age? Were the Kalpoes amused by this? I doubt it. Insulted? Very likely. No, they would hardly like Natalee upon hearing that.

Yet, this, by itself, will not indict Deepak or Satish. IMO, Joran used them to his own advantage. He's not going to tell us that.
