No need to apologize. I agree. Most of the time, FReepers can discuss differences in opinions somewhat civily. I don't know what it is about the Terri case, but every thread turns into nasty personal attacks. They do become the worst of FR.
I wondered about that. Medical care requires that you do not attempt to feed someone by mouth, because it may cause death? So one would recommend starvation as the option?

There are people here who would gladly let a human vegetable live in bed for 15 years. Because they are nuts.
My guess is that if terri could speak, she would have said, "Let me die, you self-righteous sadists!!! 15 years, for god's sake, I am lying here for 15 years!!!! Let me die, you religious a-holes."
Please, NOTHING is stopping Terri's parents from going out and erecting a memorial for her at any one of the thousands of cemetaries in this country. Or how about a Park, or a beach, or maybe someplace that made their daughter happy.
Geez, she was cremated, what are they going to spend time with, Ashes?
Let's assume for a moment, shall we, that human beings do indeed have a soul. OK, going with that assumption, it stands to reason, once the soul is free of the corpse, it's more like than not to be fairly capable of "spending time with loved ones" pretty much wherever they are, without requiring the "loved ones" to worship on some ridiculous Ash Alter...

Wait a second. Is LITIGATION exactly what you wanted? Because it is the husband or immediate family who normaly decides what happens in a situation like this.
You wanted judges to litagate and override the law, right? Or is it that you DON'T wnt that? So you agree that Michael had the right to make the feeding tube descision? Oh, no, but you wanted litigation to override his decision? Oh but wait, you said above that you want to STOP judge shopping (like trying every possible court jurisidction in the country) and litigation?

I have said nothing about right or wrong. I have merely pointed out a fact about the weight of the post-hydration brain.
I did not watch the press conference. Did the Dr say what Terri weighed before the feeding tube was removed, and what she weighed on admission to the morgue? Both numbers must be part of his report.
I got the impression, months ago, the autopsy was going to PROVE to one & ALL, ONCE & FOR ALL, MS had abused Terri.....

Her parents testified in court she WAS bulemic; the doctors paid good money in a judgement because she WAS bulemic.
Do you not believe that if there had been ONE IOTA of evidence that she had been attacked in some way that the doctors would not have questioned that during the trial? Do you think the accused doctors would not have DEFENDED themselves.........and the insurance company, too?
