What's the alternative? Who would have a better chance of beating Obama than Keyes, while also delivering the conservative message in the most articulate way to the entire country?
My apolitical MA co-workers have characterized the race as "godzilla vs. mothra." They can't tell the difference between good versus evil, yet. But when they know something about the Illinois senate race, you can be sure that something big is going down. And when the debates are broadcast, they may learn something.

I read that Hastert would support a Keyes candidacy in the Illinois Leader. It was in a variable quote box of the day, so I'm sure it has changed by now. I haven't yet read that he would do fundraisers for him, but I hope that's the case. Keyes would be a vocal and articulate spokesman for the Fair Tax, and obviously an ally for Hastert's advocacy for the abolition of the IRS, as he mentioned in his new book.

Yes, I am well. Life has its ups and downs for everyone, and I've had my share lately. I have lost 50+ pounds and am a bit grayer than 3 years ago, but cheerful and resolute as ever. The Declaration Foundation barely gets by financially; I still do the news posting there.

I am spending more time with my family and on my teaching. I will be teaching the Declaration Principles highschool course on line this fall, and look forward to it.

Pretty much the same. I'm about to finish up my coursework for my bachelor's. Three more courses. After that, I don't know. My wife is suggesting law school, but I haven't decided whether or not that is a plausible option.
Please understand that I am not "lying". At worse it would be considered hyperbole. Also, feel free to direct your comments to me if you feel that strongly about it.
I understand your frustration that I did not give you the response you hoped for a couple of nights ago. It's just that I felt there was not much I could say that would convince you if you weren't already convinced by reading the posts on that thread.
In other words, the vitriol and hatred of Keyes by several posters seems to speak for itself.
As I've stated others, Keyes is apparently the candidate so the Keyes critics need to get over it and get behind him, or it seems the only purpose they would serve at this point would be to undermine him. Cheers.

'Beaste for running for senator in NY.
Why not run Andy McKenna? He's actually from Illinois and is just as conservative as Keyes?

Andy McKenna's a great guy w/conservative values. I wish he'd have gotten RNC support.
