There are different ways of assembling the syllables & I've
managed before, but it just wouldn't do it tonight. I figured
I was writing haiku, I was on a roll. But, it just wouldn't go.

Anticipating.
I'll meet my love at midnight,
when the moon is high.

From the dragon's mouth
I heard a small, frightened voice.
It was his dentist.

I hear the soft rain
beating on the window pane
& I think of you.

And my only vampire haiku, I was testing
the rearrangement of syllables at the time.

I can sense your pulse beneath your warm skin.
Your blood is so inviting...

"At the AIport..."

It might have been the Lair, or it could also have been earlier in this thread, as well.

Yeah, I know that feeling. Most guys don't notice me 'cause
I'm not in their face with a Pamelaesque figure. I don't have
such a figure & neither does she without the plastic. When
guys do, it's usually 'cause they just want something from me.
Then there are the guys that don't realize I'M A GIRL. It's
like a newsflash when they realize I'm not one of the guys.

The other common problem I have is that most of the guys that I know are in steady relationships or are married. I'm at that age where there are still some single guys out there, but a huge chunk are spoken for in some way. LOL!

Very nice haiku! I especially like the first and third ones.

For me, it does matter what classes I'd take.
OCCC has no classes I'd dare set foot in...
evolution, I'd be asked to leave on the first day.

I'm not good with kids. I really don't know what to
do with them. I'm not accustomed to them, not to
mention I've known very few children as advanced as
the ones from my family. So I'm used to kids like my
niece who has been walking since she was 7 months &
was holding her own head up by the time she left the
hospital. I don't know what to do with kids that aren't
like that, to be exact, I can't handle kids that aren't
like that. I can't make a connection.

I've known people who worked as aids to the elderly.
They'd get attached & then the person would die &
they'd feel awful. I have a very hard time coping with
loss. I don't think I could work along side it everyday.

I honestly don't believe I'm cut out for jobs that
deal with a lot of people a lot of the time.

I get along with older men.
Usually MUCH older. That's
actually a bit of a problem as
the older they are, the more
likely to be taken they are. It
sometimes feels very strange
to get into a conversation
with a 25 - 30 year old man.
Especially if we start complaining
about teens today... I am only
19 at the moment.

Thanks. I was writing a lot of haiku
for about a week last year, mostly
romantic haiku. I'd lay down 5 on a
page & I had 5 pages. I learned I could
write haiku while going through a poetry
slump. Then the poetry came back & I
couldn't write haiku again. Weird.

Yeah, they try to get me to skate
(as in on a skateboard). I don't
know what possesses them &
causes them to believe I can. I
don't do the knee scraping hobbies.
I can hike. I can camp. I can ride
a horse, given the chance. Other
than that, I'm just a poet.

Nah, you wouldn't want any from
around here. They're all hicks or really
clueless city slickers. I have to search.

I've gone through phases where I couldn't write traditionally-structured rhymed poetry but could write stream-of-consciousness, and vice versa. I have similar phases in my prose writing where I can write certain genres sometimes but not others. I guess that's how the muse flows.
