Cool--I like the premise, it's got a lot of inherent character conflict. Are you going to continue it?
I hope that means it's good.
I was thinking of a beautiful
city, like Paris (before the
problems) or a villa in Spain
or even a slightly large town
in England. I wasn't sure which
one though. I did mention she
lived in a house with a victorian
door, sort of implanting my love of
victorian things. I just write & hope
I convey my thoughts the way I wish to.
I didn't plan on it being as long
as it was. It was just supposed
to be a short story, like the
others. I just kept thinking, so
I guess I'll have to continue it.
I intended a compliment :-). I associate Europe with drizzle across the board ... my brother lives in the English Midlands. (Drizzle) I worry about Mom and Dad's visiting him. They always come home with terrible colds!
Now Spain is an interesting idea. It's hard to convey location when your character can only be out after dark. People stay out late in Spain, though ... maybe you could mention tapas and flamenco!
Well, they DID make plans for a date.
Flamenco is okay, but I think the tango
is the most beautiful dance I've ever seen.
Englan & Scotland especially are always depicted as wet, "squishy" places.
Personally, I'd like to go to Scotland, though don't know how I'd manage.
With a heavy coat, and whisky to keep you from freezing from the inside out. (Or so my folks in Northern Ireland say ...)
My husband, the flamenco guitarist, says they have tango in Spain, but it's not the same as in South America. (I won't ask him to get technical; I'm very tired!) A Brazilian vampire would be interesting ... Santeria and all that.
Maybe I'll just create a mish-mash & make up a town.

Pretty good. We're recent expatriates from Broken Arrow; I think I know the author's family!
It's not any thread in particular, it's the troll herself -- see post #40,834. I've reported her, now it's up to the Mods.
Elvis posted his first thread just now -- and I pinged you guys to it so you can run him through the wringer. (kidding)
Could work.
You can't be serious unless you somehow know me. If you care to do the work you will see that her last name and location match up with my last name and location on my page.
You mean you get La Malagueña any time you want it? So not fair!
Never heard of Screwtape Letters, never read CS Lewis.
I've heard of the Chronicles Of Narnia, but I only know
about that 'cause I watched "The Lion, The Witch & The
Wardrobe" when I was very young.
your loss
It's a good start!
If you say so.
