Damn military people and their core values.

Not that there's anything wrong with "military people and their core values", but making those values the basis for public policy comes out looking an awful lot like "martial law".

Oh, is that what you call obeying the law?

Those stupid people in the military. How could they catch Saddam being that stupid?

I could care less who the Swedes copy or who you copy. This is America not some third rate Euroweenie country.

That is exactly right. The US Constitution is not subservient to the UN charters, and I don't appreciate the DJ and the DEA telling us they are.

Folks in the military live by a set of core values, which includes not using illegal drugs...

That is the funniest thing you have said, recently. Some military folks may not use them, but the first time I smoked hemp, was in San Francisco, in 1967, on a Midshipmens Cruise.

After we went to a Dress Ball (that's a dance, with high society 'ladies') at the St. Francis Hotel, several of us went to Haight St, and bought a matchbox full of it. We then smoked it, and went to a janis joplin concert at the Fillmore. Wow.

Throughout my time in the Navy, I was constantly getting 'stoned' with other military guys. Did you ever hear of Viet Nam?

It was the military guys that I got the good stuff from (Camp LeJeune, and Bragg), after i got out!

Thanks for the chuckle... You should know more about reality, not just show your prejudice! It'll bite you in the butt, every time, making unfounded statements!

Gotta go right now, Jose Cuervo is calling my name!

You're out of date.

The drug urinalysis program, implemented after you left the military, has driven drug use by military members way down.

One of my homes is near LeJeune. I can get some 'good stuff' right there, any time I visit the area. They are not civilians, that I can get it from! There are plenty of them, and they are usually seasoned 'combat' vets!!!

Thanks for the post, though, it gives me another chuckle! Reality is real!

Well, there you go...that's where you went wrong. Standards have greatly improved since then. Today folks tend to live up to their code of honor.

The military has statistical methods of judging very accurately the percentage of its members that uses drugs. It has long been under five percent. The five percent that don't "get it" run a very real very ugly risk of being caught out.

The vast majority of military members "get it" and willingly comply with the rules.

That you are part of that group of our society that doesn't "get it" doesn't surprise me a bit. It doesn't speak well of your self-control or your intelligence, but it doesn't surprise me.

I have no interest in surprising you, KC. Nor, of persuading you. I have a lot more intelligence, and self-control, than you have 'good manners'.

Your idea of self-control, is apparently blindly following your g'umt. I don't. Sorry, if I am not your ideal. But, I have been sucessful in business, and live well.., and don't really care about your thoughts, nor opinion concerning me...

The military isn't as infallible, as you seem to think. But, I am not a statistician, nor a military guy. I am just a guy, cruising through my life, and enjoying it as much as I can!

I never seem to get any Constitutional arguments, for YOUR postion, in support of the WOD. Is there any, that you know of? Please cite it for me...! Inquiring minds want to know!

That you can move so transparently and effortlessly from military rules and discipline to society at large, with no apparent regard for the ramifications of failing to consider the consequences doesn't surprise me.

Legalization is a CONSERVATIVE issue, folks. The national Republican Party needs to wake up and realize it.
Something I've been trying to get others to understand for quite some time.
