I lived in southern Italy for three years and traveled with my family to quite a few European countries at that time. Through the eyes of a âtweenâ Navy brat a handful of decades ago, it appeared quite civilized and even delightful.
I was last in Italy in 2004 and it was still OK. My last time in Europe was in England in 2012. You could definitely see it headed in the wrong direction then.
