The Fed is not a department of the executive branch like the Treasury. It is a consortium of private banks, though nominally under government control.

Firing one is a bit more difficult—under current law.

That said—I agree with the poster who noted that some future president will probably say “enough is enough” and fire a Fed chair and arrest any judges who object.
