Israel has far better mullers than the Mullahs –– pronounced "Moolahs" [G. W. Bush].
It’s tougher when the US leaked NOFORN describing their preparations in advance. That in no way happened by accident.
Israel has several submarines. I’d bet one is parked off the coast of Iran right now. They may use it, or maybe save that card for later if they need it.
I’d expect missiles and F-35 bombers. Which targets they hit is what matters most, and for what purpose. As you said Iran is a very large country. So a couple 100 bombs is indeed mostly an annoyance to them. But Iran is weak. 30% live in poverty and many are unhappy with the government and its tactics and brutality to women. They are angry that the Ayatollahs spend so much money funding proxy wars when the economy is in shambles and inflation is around 50% 5 years in a row. These are the seeds of a revolution.
We were all surprised by the pager attack. Who knows what other tricks Israel has up its sleeve. A missile and air strikes could just be a diversion to something more damaging. They may have computer viruses, or on the ground Iranian recruits and dissidents to deploy. I know they have been sabotaging Iran’s nuclear program not just with Stuxnet ( which the CIA and others helped) but also with target assassinations of researchers in Iran by Iranians. Let the imagination swirl. Shut down the banking system? If oil and nuclear targets anre off the table, and inspiring a domestic revolution is the goal they need to make the regime look like fools that the people can no longer stand. After the pager attack they may have something equally dramatic. Maybe something that really could rock the casbah. Perhaps damaging the internal security forces could be enough but I’d imagine those targets are spread too thin to attack from afar with just air strikes. But if nobody can use the ATM machines or credit cards for a few weeks - and with the security forces weakened - maybe the people of Iran will have a shot.
You know smuggling weapons is a two way street. We know Iran has been smuggling into Gaza and Lebanon. Who’s to say that there aren’t some militias armed by Israel (and others) with smuggled weapons ready to go from Iraq or inside Iran. Maybe the Kurds? If the regime is challenged by the people and distracted by an invading force it may be too much for the mullahs to effectively stop. I dunno. Just guessing at what sorts of asymmetrical actions could be taken since bombs can only do so much. What Israel wants is a revolution.
[Israel ‘plots strikes on Iran to topple regime’ and ‘is planning to hit them hard’]
Somehow, some day, Ezekiel 38 is coming. Count on it.
From approximately 2,600 years ago:
Iran = Persia
Libya = Put or Phut (depending upon the translation)
Turkey = House of Togarmah
Cush = Ethiopia or more likely these days, modern Sudan (not South Sudan)
Sheba and Dedan - (southern?) Saudi Arabia
Ezekiel 38 KJV (KJV phrases)
Verse 8 -> Latter Years
Verse 16 -> Latter Days

NOT going to say it’s tomorrow, of course.
