I’ll bet she IS a hoot! Sounds like she found the perfect people to own.
Give her a hug from me and scratch her belly. I’m going to go lie down, and I suspect I won’t be back today.
Hope your wife has had a GOOD Mother’s Day!
Thanks ‘Face.
Same to you!
*HUGS around!*
Afternoon! Thunderstorm warnings all over the place, but it’s mostly sunny here. Bill went to dig our neighbor’s holes for her shrubbery. I made him put his boots on!
Oops, a tornado warning just popped up but it’s several counties west.
Well, now it’s in 4 counties! Bill made $20 planting shrubs, and our neighbor says she has a drum set in her barn back in New York, where she comes from, left by a son who outgrew being a drummer. She said she’d haul it down and give Bill a look at it - he doesn’t want just *any* old drums :-).
Amanda said one of her classmates offerred to play the trumpet for us. This could make things interesting. If the rest of the group gets loud enough, Bill could play the full drum set, which would be the highlight of his life so far.
We took a picture of the whole group after Mass today. I’ll see if I can get Bill to post it online after supper.
I was actually about to be back several hours ago, but while taking care of other business I stumbled across another federal bill that just has to die, so I had to draft a letter. Haven't found the key to success at the federal level yet, unlike the state level, but I'll keep at it.
It's way too dangerous to leave folks like our congresscritters in charge of the country. I am really surprised that the country hasn't gone over the cliff a long time ago.
That deserves a bttt! Although my Congresscritter, Sue Myrick, is one of the better ones. And so was my previous rep, John Sullivan (Ok.-1) and the one before that, Steve Largent, and the one before that, J.C. Watts, and the one before that, Lamar Smith ...
I guess I've just been lucky in the places I've lived - sort of like with the Church!
To his defense, I see the same operating on my technical standards committees. There is too much material before them today, so a lot of things don't get careful analysis from anyone.
Until it's too late...
My congressman Dave Weldon is retiring. My previous rep, Steve Latourette, is a big zero. I watched Largent in the NFL for a couple years but I don’t know about his politics, since after Arnold we’re all skeptical of “republican” celebrities.
Largent was a hero when he left local football here for politics. Don't know how he's done since, but generally they all seem to get corrupted by the D.C. environment soon after arrival.
I planted some raspberries and blackberries today. This did not take my full ability to think so I came up with the question. If Blueberries are blue and blackberries are black why don't we call raspberries redberries?
Steve Largent was a good, conservative congressman. However, when he ran for governor, it turned out he didn’t know how to campaign outside a solid Republican constituency. I think he thought that his football name-recognition would carry over, but it didn’t. Lost big-time. John Sullivan, who won his Tulsa-area Congress seat, is also a good conservative rep, who hasn’t sought higher office that I know of.
We have several berry bushes in our yard, but the birds eat most of the fruit. Don’t know how that helps ...
Good morning to me! Sunny and 50’s. Time for my plants to grow!
Good morning!
More wind today, and “maybe” some showers. We’ll see...
Why do we call them strawberries when they're not straw-colored at all?
And then there are the gooseberries, but they are green and do not in any way resemble geese!
My grandmother used to make gooseberry pie. I thought it was icky. Green, and all that ...
How are you? I forgot to mention that we lost Pat *again* at the Botanical Garden on Saturday. We were all, we thought, in the van ready to leave, when Tom said, “Pat’s not here!”
Anoreth and I still had our admission wristbands on, so we went back for him. Before we got to the entrance, we saw him walking up the path to the parking lot, talking on his invisible hand-held communicator. When he saw us, he leapt about a little and said, “I was building Ra’s pyramid, and then you left!”
My dad loved gooseberry pie, but I’ve never tasted anything so sour in my life. *shudder* He also liked prune cake, and I’m afraid when it comes to the two of them, I’m not his kid!!
At least Pat had his communicator. It probably has a homing device in it. Otherwise, he would have wandered far... ;o]
I’m surprised that nobody notices the dweeby little kid wandering around alone, talking to himself. Maybe he looks so confident that they don’t think he could be a “lost child.”
