Yes, things are “better,” but I always cross my fingers when I say that, because I don’t know how long it will last, or whether I’ll try to do “too much” because I feel so good. (Relatively.)

You’re going to give an “awesome” speech about international technology standards?

...A lot of foolish behavior that produced reasonably predictable consequences. That could apply to most of us, except for the fact that we don't get our names and faces in the news. Still, I don't ever wish bad things for anyone, no matter who they are or what they've done.
We can always extrapolate that because Hitler, Stalin, Atilla, Gengis Khan, Hussein, et al were evil men who loved to kill, they will be going to Hell.
What we don't know is how God judges people. And it's silly to speculate.
So I'll just do my part of forgiving for all of them, and let God work it out in His Wisdom. "Judge not..." I'm scared o' that!

Excellent observations, particularly
What we don't know is how God judges people. And it's silly to speculate. We don't know the state of anyone else's soul.

And sometimes, I’m not even sure about my own soul, so I do a lot of working on my spirituality. Which is why I’m so quick to forgive. I don’t even harbor bad feelings about anyone that has hurt me, because it takes too much out of my heart. I’d rather fill it with light.

I'd like to think so, but I think the "awesome" was for the abstract. (I spent all day on just 250 words... *\;-)
Still, I've been immersing myself in these standards for some time now, and attending conferences and seminars where they're discussed. There are essentially three different sets of standards, from somewhat different sources (a lot of overlap), and there's a lot of "churn" as they get created and updated.
It's close to a full-time job to track all these and I see no sign that anyone else is doing the same. So I get to bring them all together for my audience, most of whom will have a little awareness but know nothing of the particulars.
I have a small-scale (and now out-of-date) version of this presentation that I delivered in-house twice last fall, and once in India in February, and each time the reaction has been "I had no idea all this was happening..."
It's a preview into what is about to bear down on them big-time.

I told my daughter once that because of who I am, I forgave her before she ever did anything to me. She couldn’t understand that because she harbors resentment and often hatred. Both are wasted emotions. It takes too much energy to carry a Grudge. They’re a lot heavier than they look when you first put them on your heart.

Well, golly! With enough wine, you can pretend...nah...never mind. Got any Halloween candy left? Probably not... *snort*
I’d settle for one or the other, right about now. I’ll just have to go to bed and read something to make me forget.
Y’all have a good night, and I’ll see you tomorrow! Same time, same station!
