All three girls complained about being itchy and fiddled with their veils. I told them, “Beauty knows no pain!” I think we still have a suit in the closet that Bill wore for Christmas or Easter when he was about 5. He was really skinny, so it might fit Pat. If not, I’ll talk to my friends about borrowing one.

I don’t want to get a suit for Pat if I don’t have to, because nothing that fits him will do for James and Vlad.

Don't see my daughter anywhere in the background -- I would have expected she would be somewhere about, because one of her profs is the Snake Man! Tall lanky girl with LONG reddish-brown hair, who looks like the poster child for the Irish Tourist Board.

There were a number of girls carrying snakes around and nuzzling lizards, but I wasn’t particularly looking for your daughter (I’ve seen her picture once or twice). I didn’t know she took herpetology!

I agree. She loves creepy critters. At the Oklahoma State entomology fair, she wanted to pet every single Madagascar Hissing Cockroach. “Nice buggie. ‘Nother one!”

Yeah, she took it! And sat on the front row, too.

She said she didn't mind anything but the venomous ones, those made her nervous. Especially the LARGE timber rattler that he hoicked out of a toolbox and tossed onto the floor . . . . yikes!

As far as I'm concerned, the only good venomous snake is one lying on the ground with its head separated from its body by a garden hoe. I don't like 'em.

Now, hissing cockroaches are COOL!

So much more entertaining than the ones that infested our first apartment after we were married. Go in the kitchen at night and turn on the light . . . . "Honey, I didn't know we had brown linoleum in here!"

It would never have occurred to me, though, to address one as "Nice buggie!" Kids are great!

I couldn’t look; roaches give me nightmares. When the Cub Scouts found a big tarantula at day camp, she wanted to pet it. “Give me the nice fluffy spider buggie!” I thought the Cubmaster would have a heart attack.

You REALLY wouldn't have liked our first apartment!

I guess you could call it desensitization therapy, but I've never minded roaches since. I can kill 'em with my bare hands (or feet). I do wash my hands afterwards though, they're pretty germy.

I’ve never had anything waxed except my floors and an occasional piece of furniture.... ;o]

Of course, these days, it takes me about twice as long to put on make-up than it did 20 years ago. Maybe that’s because I’ve forgotten where everything goes.

I only wear lipstick. I had too much trouble hitting my glasses with the mascara wand. I had to give it up. ;-)
