Well, if you hadn’t been throwing the turnips at me, I could have driven in a straight line....

Maybe... ;o]

That's not what the police report said. Just how you managed to stuff eight circus clowns, two dancing poodles, and a Royal Bengal tiger inside baffles me to this day.

So was I throwing turnips in my sleep?

Sandbagger? Why, I never! Carpetbagger, Bagger Vance, sure--but that was uncalled for.

What is a sandbagger, anyway? Is this some hip new urban slang that I'm not familiar with? ;)

No, you waited until Mom was awake and then you tossed the turnips.

Bagger Vance? Ad Vance to the Rear?
You are SO clever!

(But I luv ya! Your presence has made my birthday really GREAT! *HUG*)

and then you tossed the turnips.

He tossed his turnips?! That doesn't sound good. Did that the day before a recent trip -- was worried I was going to be ill the whole week...

What you don't know is that our family has a long history of involvement with sand--primarily collecting, bagging, and distributing, going back to the Punic Wars. Our earliest known ancestor, Incompetus Maximus, a lesser known commander in the Roman army, came up with the idea of using his vast storehouses of sand as a weapon against Carthage. It was shot down in favor of salt, and there were no dance numbers involved in the final draft. The rest is history.

I never said we were a particularly successful folk.

Would it suffice to say that the turnip truck is not exactly the most comfortable ride in the world? We've replaced the shocks since then.

Golly. Incompetus Maximus was no doubt preceded by Bagimus Sandicus, who invented the burlap bag.

We all have our own marks on history. And that, my Bro, is all for the night.

Thanks for making my birthday spectacular! *smooch*
I couldn’t have done it without you!
