Not in this life time nor any other lifetimes! I have better things to do with my time and energy, than watching a bunch of guys turning left!

IMHO nascar is a complet waste of time, effort & money..

Not to change the subject (translation: I’m changing the subject) but the short lived abc series “Fast Cars and Superstars” is on full screen streaming video. It has the gilette young guns trying to teach a dozen actors to race cup cars at Lowes. You will want broadband to watch it. Fun stuff. Jewel, following the Flipper’s tutilage, kicks! I haven’t watched how William Shatner fared yet. There’s a couple 30 second Bud ads in each half hour show. Fun stuff.

It loads a small browser extension to view with very good quality, actually. To watch, go here and click “watch it online”: http://abc.go.com/specials/fastcars.html

Thanks ken5050 for the heads-up.

I read some speculation that Jr. might be in the 25 car because of sponsor situations that would bump Mears into the #5 next year.

Either way, it would be nice to see BUD "ON THE CAR" ;)

Boy’s Make-a-Wish gifts from Jeff Gordon stolen
By BOB SCOTT
bscott@journalandcourier.com

Otterbein’s Cody Copas, 13, hopes police find the burglar who stole his Jeff Gordon collectibles.

“Why would someone do that?” he said today. “I hope they get him, and he gets in trouble for robbing people.”

The boy met the NASCAR driver in November 2003 as part of a Make a Wish Foundation request. The teen, who is in remission with lymphocytic leukemia, visited Homestead, Fla., to meet Gordon and watch a NASCAR race. He spent several hours with Gordon, who signed photos and other memorabilia.

Copas is entering eighth grade at Benton Central Junior-Senior High School.

Police said that sometime between Wednesday night and early this morning, a burglar stole items from the residence of the boy’s father, Darral Copas. The father recently moved to the 100 block of Candlelight Plaza in West Lafayette. He was working when the burglary took place.

Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Morgan said stolen items included autographed one-twenty-fourth scale model race cars and scale model Jeff Gordon semi trucks.

He said the thief also took collector coins and rings.

“Detectives are investigating,” he said.

Darral Copas is angry. He is a former race driver at the track in Benton County, now called Kamp Motor Speedway.

“Meeting Gordon was a once-in-a-lifetime thing for Cody,” he said.

“They cleaned out an entire room, 14 years of collecting. We’re all sick about it.”

He estimated that the Jeff Gordon collectibles were worth “probably $10,000.”

“They even took scale model sprint cars that you can’t find anymore,” the father said.

Cody’s aunt, Diana Lomax of West Lafayette, also is upset. She called the thief a “low life.”

“Anyone who steals from a cancer survivor should be shot,” she said.

That's what my wife used to say about my trips to the range. So I gave her a Glock 26 for mothers day. Sure it was risky :o)

A sidearm makes more sense to me than going to a nascar race. At least you have to show for your hard earned green backs! :)

For her, yah. It kind of backfired, though. She let me buy guns only if I bought her one too from then on.

Back to the original point, she couldn’t for the life of her see why I spent so much time, money and ammo at the range. In retrospect, I think I spend that much time money and ammo because it puts a big grin on my face.

I think you’ll find, even if you don’t understand why, that most everybody on this thread, and in the stands a half mile from your house, don’t have any idea themselves why they watch it... but it puts a big grin on their faces.

But Kyle Busch, wooed by enormous offers from various teams not nearly as established as Hendrick, decided to take a hike at the end of this season, and “that opened the door for me,” Earnhardt said.

Junior is repeating what Hendrick said. And Rick Hendrick was lying.

On ESPN2's Nascar Now, Shrub said it isn't true that he was being wooed by other teams, he had not talked to any other teams, there were no offers from other teams.

He did repeat the line that he and Hendrick had "mutually decided to split." But that was VERY clearly not true. Because right after that a clearly upset Shrub said he had no idea he was the most expendable at HMS. He had no intention of leaving HMS, everyone at HMS and on his team "were his friends," and they "all hang out together." He was looking forward to re-signing with HMS.

"Mutually decided to split" is for public consumption. Shrub was fired to make way for Junior. And Junior has the audacity to use "integrity" in the same sentence as "Rick Hendrick."
