Funny thing, we seem to go more now that we don't have kids at home than when we did.
The only thing ESPN & IRL is doing right is the side by side commercial. Even during cautions, they still show the race.
If NASCAR wants to 'liven' things up...they ought to allow some more competition among suppliers. Goodyear shouldn't be allowed to have a monopoly any more. Firestone, Hoosier and Goodyear should supply tires. Next, let them run any body style they want. All these stupid rules on aero parity...each team will figure out which body and aeropackage gives them the best speed. Finally, get rid of the restrictor plates. Let them horses free!! Safety measures such as the SAFER barrier and HANS devices have greatly improved safety at high speeds...
I can understand that. What I can't understand is why you deal with them. Hurricanes come with warning labels. :)
That's really not very sporting is it...
I'm not a fan of restrictors, but I don't know if they can run much faster on some of these tracks unless they go to Indycar body designs. And I know there's a lot of bellyaching about tars, but I'm sure it comes back to money, in short, they bought the rights. The other manufacturers can either step up or step aside.
In all reality though, I cannot understand why Nascar wants to fix anything. I'm from the country and my take is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Sure it is. We still play the guessing game of trying to out smart mother nature. Some pay dearly too.
Appropriate choice of words too! LOL
That thing is endless!
I know and I'm not to proud of some of the people pictured... >;(
I thought it was neat that one pic/comment was about a bankruptcy connected between here and there, a bit ironic. :)
Best Radio Chatter:
The Bristol short track creates many accordian-style crashes, where an incident in front of you makes you a helpless victim. Such an occurence almost swept Dale Jr. into a multi-car crash on lap 25. In the incident, the nose of Junior's car slid under the back of Kasey Kahne's car, lifting it in the air.
Tony Eury Jr (crew chief): (teasing Dale Jr.) "You didn't happen to see what gear ratio he had in there?"
Dale Jr.: "Ha! No, but I can tell you exactly what the trackbar setting is..."
During an yellow flag on lap 118:
Dale Jr: "How long of a race is this? Damn... lotsa yellows... I wanna get some donuts on the car! I think I got one already on the right rear."
Joey Meier (spotter): "I hate to disappoint ya, but you don't really have a proper donut back there."
Dale Jr: (disappointed) "AW! I thought I got into the 21 car pretty good."
Meier: "Yeah. But not enough to get a donut."
I see Robby Gordon is sponsoring himself this week.
I'm looking forward to seeing how the cars are gonna hold up today. :) I don't think they'll be lifting the car in front up enough to see the gear ratio or trackbar settings. lol
I know, I'm very excited about the race today...could be slam-bam KAPOOF!
This COT stuff could go either way...wall happy schmooking or some cool bump and runs for the win!
400?
