They were right last week, in total agreement with Dial Idol. I think they are probably right on again this week.

(Taylor--he sings, writes his own songs, plays instruments, has charisma, and he's the whole package.)

I have resigned myself to the fact that we will likely be bidding farewell to Elliott this evening.
GO TAYLOR!!!

Oh I hear ya. It was touching the first time, now it's just annoying. My husband came in the room right when they were showing her dad crying for the millionth time and said, "Put a dress on, ya woman! Geez, when isn't that guy crying??"

I've noticed that. My husband thinks she sings great! However, I think he's just looking at her boobs. To me, it sounds like she's erratic and searching for a note.
I've always thought that there was a bit of the stage mother thing going on. Katharine almost seems lacking in confidence and looking to her mother, or someone, like ,"Is this right? She keeps going up and down with vocals like she's very uncertain of herself and her ability.

I love Taylor. Last night I couldn't help but think of Dana Carvey talking about different types of singers and how some look like they are angry at the microphone. I hope someone else has seen that routine, because it's hysterical! I'm cracking up just thinking about it.

"This competition is over. He's the one." That looks like it could very well be the case.
Based on these hot-off-the-presses results.

The interesting thing to me was the 4,000,000 vote gap between Taylor and Kat. If that holds she would need 2/3rds of Elliot votes in order to be even with him next week....
To: retrokitten
Is that the bit before he sings "She's Chopping Broccoli"? LMAO!

I know. I know. And the glimpse of Elliot's mother really touched me last night. I just keep telling myself that Elliot is discovered, he will be very successful, she will be proud. You can tell they are good people.
Meantime.......can't wait to see Taylor's face!
It is so strange to me how Taylor gets to people. To me, first he stood out because of his gray hair, then his dancing along with Simon's insults, then the way he talks and his face and humility. It does not matter to me at all that he is so different and has the spastic dance moves. I love to see him dance. It is like pure joy when he dances and makes others feel free to pursue their joy dance unashamed, too. I don't want him all slick and packaged just so like other celebrities. I guess America is teaching Simon this.

Yes!! He says they act like they are so mad at the microphone that they can't even look at it so they look off to the sides of the stage. Finally, when they sing into the mic they get all angry. And he talks about how Neil Young songs are just random words strung together. I love Dana Carvey.

I don't get the hubbub over his dancing either. Chuck Berry, Rod Stewart, Mick Jagger, Joe Cocker, someone above pointed out Johnny Lange, all contort and dance around like idiots and are all legends. They didn't have super hot dance moves, became legends and then decided to change to the spastic dance moves. It's just what they do.

Has anyone asked or wondered why Taylor didn't sing "Georgia on My Mind" last night when he had the chance?..instead of what he chose?..everyone here who is a Taylor fan has long been hoping he'd get the chance to do it..Only reason I can surmise is that he'll have another contestant's choice on the final show, and he's saving it for that...

This year is the first I have seen a contestant who just does not get it and probably never will. I blame this on McMommy, the vocal teacher, who probably overrides what the judges keep telling Katharine, which is "SING THE MELODY!!!"I don't know who you are, or what you do for a living, but you ought to be writing entertainment reviews!! You are always so spot on, and I really enjoy reading your summations.
I need you to speak for me at my meetings because you're able to extrapolate my thoughts so well. ;-)

Next time ping me when you are talking about me!
I see it is ok with you for SG to put out his disgusting and degrading insults about certain AI contestants so long as they are not about Elliott.
No I am not bitter or resent that Chris went home. I know Chris is better off without the cheesy AI title and the terrible contract the AI winner gets. Even YOU have expressed that Elliott would be better without the AI title.
What I am tired of is all the uncalled degrading comments that have nothing to do with how these people sing or perform. Even you have had your feelings hurt over how people have made degrading comments about Elliott.
Should I of said that your just bitter because Elliott is not going to win this thing and that the past uncalled degrading comments about Elliott are ok? (there has been plenty of those coming from many different people and I watched you get your feelings hurt when it would happen.)
SG adds NOTHING to this thread, all he adds is one-liner degrading insults about the contestants and nothing more.
Chances are this thread ended up in the Smoky Backroom due to all the one-liner degrading insults that have been directed towards all the contestants and other freepers. I never reported any of it but I know I am not the only one that just plan tired of it and I don't understand why some FReepers even choose to continually take part in it.
To: andyssister
I wish he would come to Chicago sooooo bad. He doesn't tour that much since he had his heart problems. Everytime I see he's playing a show it's in CA or Las Vegas.
