Can you point me to or repost the judges picks? I went back through the thread and haven't been able to find them anywhere. Have they been leaked yet?
No, but people with money can buy a bunch of Go phones and pay for a lot more text messages. Land lines aren't squat compared to text messages. Texting is going to determine the winner. Say you have 5 people. 4 are using landlines and voting for person A. The 5th person is texting and voting for person B. Person B is going to win by a mile. :) With landlines, you might, maybe, be able to get in 100 votes. With texting you can get in 3,000 votes. But, still, its fun to pretend like we get a say. ;)
Clive says its about sex and making sure Taylor understands that. Maybe he's playing to the HAWT factor! LOL
Elliott's is What You Won't Do for Love.
Kat's is Over the Rainbow; Taylor is You Are So Beautiful
Oh! I did see those! Duh. More caffine....
Did I also hear that Taylor is doing Try a Little Tenderness for his pick?
None of the contestants choices have been confirmed.
Oh, okay.
Actually I did this and the text messages are only 5 cents each. I keep going in each week and paying in advance and ending up with far more than I need on each phone.
Got 1200 plus for ya tonight, Elliott.
I seriously doubt that, not on one phone at least.
The other unfair advantage you forgot is phone lines. Whether it is because we are Seattle area or very rural within that area, I only get 3-5 busy signals on the landline votes.
The rumored order is E, Kat, Tay. However, this is based on people calling in the phone lines early to test the numerical order. I don't know how accurate that is. That said, with only 3 people left, order is probably not that big a deal, since all the performances will be in recent memory. However, your point about E never getting the pimp spot is true.
You're near Seattle? We lived in Kent for six years. Really liked it there.
Vibrato is a tricky thing. Too much is schlocky and melodramatic, like a crappy opera singer. Too little, and the result is a forced, harsh and unappealing tone, which often is characterized as "flat" even when it's actually right on the note. On big notes, the voice should be allowed to "bloom" into the appropriate amount of vibrato. But what, exactly, is the appropriate amount of vibrato? Well, that's between a singer, his voice coach, and the audience ... and the audience always wins the argument! :)
As for "Open Arms," I blush to say I can't place the song. (I spent much of my formative youth doing musicals and singing in choirs, and I didn't really pay attention to the names of the songs I heard on the radio.) Um, is there someplace I could hear a clip to jog my memory?
Maybe Clive has read the AI Taylor boards! LOL He's got lesbians willing to go straight for him. ; )
E is doing a Ray Charles song. No word on what it is though
"The Mighty Ta-ta'd One "
HAH! Roar! Choke! Spew!!!
You owe me a new keyboard, Hetty.
I saw Chris and his wife on Fox's 1 p.m. talk show. What a pleasant couple! They are both looking forward to Chris's new career as a rock idol.
I hope he makes it BIG!!!
