He travels for lots of reasons, usually to promote CA.

As Netizen point out, the following is from the article for which you provided a link:

Word of Schwarzenegger's travel often comes after he has left. On Saturday, April 29, his office disclosed that he'd departed California but provided no details. The following Monday, Schwarzenegger's photograph appeared in the New York Post as he browsed clothing racks in Manhattan, and local media reported he had been the beneficiary of a fundraiser at the home of billionaire Ron Perelman.

So is this:

While many of Schwarzenegger's trips on official business are extensively publicized, he also can slip away on a private jet with an e-mail from his office: "Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has left the state."

When he leaves, by law Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante becomes Acting Governor. Arnie can jet off to New York to buy clothes and attend a fundraiser, leaving Cruz to sign anything his Leftist buddies in the legislature pass and get to his desk while Schwarzenegger is off on his junket.

>>>Elliott Yamin ? Good gosh, how am I going to sell the kid with his Mr. Tumnus look and bad teeth ? The Justin Timberlake crowd aren't going to buy him. How I wish Ace Young had the voice of Elliott Yamin…. <<<

Yes, Simon is about to earn his gazillion-dollar salary.

Even more reason to make sure Arnold gets re-elected this fall, so McClintock will be watching the hen house instead of Bustamante.

If it's face time Arnold wanted, AI would've been a good venue.
I wonder if he was even asked.

Because all LA cares about is being entertained...

Speaking of being entertained -- LA without the periods means Louisiana. ;-)

Like people everywhere, those of us who live in Southern California care about many more things than just being entertained. As for our entertainment dollars, we are fortunate to have a huge range of places and things on which to spend them. The NFL has been outta here for around 10 years, maybe longer (don't remember exactly when the Raiders moved back to Oakland). It hasn't been missed.

We have two baseball teams, NCAA football, the NBA, NHL, NASCAR and three horseracing tracks. We have the higest mountains and the lowest deserts in the continental U.S. within easy driving distance. We have many of the best beaches, golf courses, plenty of parks, museums, theme parks, historical places, two presidential libraries, great sport fishing, riding trails, and even a resort island within easy reach. We have great weather most of the time, so many of us spend more time outdoors than inside watching TV.

Well Simon, YOU GOT YOUR WORK CUT OUT FOR YOU. You make $36 Million a year, now show us you deserve it.

A lot of Taylor's "charm" is that he's an energetic performer, which doesn't really translate to audio recordings. That's what bugs Simon. He doesn't know how to make a record that will sound as good as Taylor appears on a stage. When Rebecca Romijn wanted Taylor to perform Jailhouse Rock again because he rocked it out, she was not really commenting on his singing.

That's just it. Arnold doesn't need face time on a TV show. He's a big-time star and he knows it.

As for making sure Arnold gets reelected so McClintok will be "watching the hen house," our governor and lieutenant governor candidates do not run as a slate. They run independently. We frequently elect a governor from one party and a lieutenant governor from the other party.

McClintock will win or lose independently of whatever happens to Schwarzenegger. I plan to vote against Arnold in the primary and for McClintock in the primary. Arnold will still get the nomination. I will vote against him in November, but for McClintock for Lt. Gov.

Then blame the state law or state constitution for that, not Arnie. It's stupid to expect him to be a prisoner in the state. Bush doesn't stay holed up in DC for 4 years at a time.

LOL! And the guys can drool over Kat's cleavage to their hearts' content. :)

The women could, too, if they want. All of mankind can appreciate what Kat's packing.

I'll be voting against the Dems. Arnold vetoed gay marriage. The Dems won't.

As for Arnold and AI, I strongly doubt he was even asked.
The last thing the liberals want is for Arnold to get positive play in CA, especially on such a wide reaching show.

I think Simon underestimates that aspect. I wasn't to crazy about Taylor's performance of 'Something', the night he did it. He didn't run around and do goofy dancing or anything, it was just the song. But, later I went to a site (link has been posted, some jukebox) and I listened to it again. Then again. Then I had asked about where to download it because I found that I really really liked it.

Sometimes I think we so busy watching and listening that we miss things. I wound u really liking his performance on 'Something'. It's one of my favorites. I play his mp3's all the time and you can't see him, but if you listen you can feel the enjoyment coming through. :)

People that think you have to see and be drinking to enjoy Taylor are kidding themselves. jmo

Yes, but Taylor has a cd out. It's more like Trouble, Levon, Something, In The Ghetto, the spaz *is* what he does for concerts the serious songs are what he writes and records.

He was asked. Had a scheduling conflict, I'm sure. AI is not a lib-con thing.

Obviously you're a straight guy. Do you drool over good-looking male entertainers?

Do you know for sure he was asked?

You see the AI show in So Cal ~ the surge of Angelides/Westly ads.
AI is most certainly run by Hollywood leftists.
You think they want a mega star like Arnold sucking up free airtime?

That's my point. Kat's boobs are like the Mount Rushmore sculptures-- women and men can appreciate their greatness alike!

Brad Pitt doesn't have anything comparable.

Yes. If the governors of the other two states were asked, ours would be too. Not everything is about politics.

Well, I don't know about Brad Pitt specifically, but from a woman's point of view good-looking guys sure as heck do have something comparable. Also, we straight women don't react to breasts the same way men do.

Not everything is about politics.

In CA it is, and you know it.
Especially where the leftist entertainment industry is concerned.
With a choice between a rabid leftist mayor, and a Republican superstar, which one do you think they'll promote?

Thanks. I was feeling kind of pukely at the thought..

You know, there are a few forums where some have made note of some supposed "fact" that she nevers uses a gender when speaking of dating.
