"He has a bit of the best of Bill Clinton in him..."

"Gawd! What a horrible thing to say about Taylor!"

Hah! I cringed when I read that. I wasn't brave enough to post my opinion at TWOP though. And that is why I love Free Republic.

I feel like I don't even have to read the rest of the article after reading that. After comparing Tay Tay to Slick anything the author says is suspect.

Simply excellent article on Elliott. I have been saying many of the same things this writer did.

She is right, AI's treatment of Elliott has been terrible. The kid goes out there and sings his heart out every week, consistantly good, never a sour note, and he never gets the praise he deserves.

It it my sincere hope that he gets a career out of this.

Great article. However, whatever the trio of Simon, Simon and Nigel (I think Randy has been a very strong supporter of Elliott) have done to discourage people against him has only made his fans more loyal and strident in their efforts to support Elliott. (You can say the same for Taylor's people as well). When E releases something you can bet that there will be a lot of people lining up to buy his stuff. For all the whining and insults cast his way for his lack of performance experience, let's just see how he does in a studio with some legit sound engineers.

Some of us have pulled out a lot of stops to try and keep E in this as long as possible. It's not about the money but rather, it's about the man that he is and what he means to people. Some people out there put down his song choices but in reality they are putting down American musical giants and pioneers because it is their music he is singing, not his own. To each his or her own I suppose but if nothing else he and Paris have cast attention on music of yester year that stands head and shoulders over most of the bilge created in the last 25 years.

He's overcome a lot to get as far as he has but it hasn't gone to his head one bit. He always has time for an autograph, a picture with someone or a call to some family back in Richmond who's kid sent him a card wishing him well.

Look and see how he has treated his fellow contestants this year. Why do so many of them say they hope that he wins.

Get a dictionary and look up words like class, humility, dignity and character.

That's him.

Absolutely!

My gut tells me that Elliott will not win, my heart tells me that he still could. I keep imagining that people are starting to get it, starting to see what some of us have seen for a while now. There is no better voice in this competition, period. I keep thinking this could end up like you see in the movies where the underdog gains traction and actually pulls out a win. I hope it to be so, I really do.

But, not matter what happens, Elliott has to be proud to have made it to the final four, considering all that he has been up against.

You got a source for MANY of his fellow contestants saying they WANT HIM TO WIN?

I haven't seen any of his former contestans say they hope he wins. In fact, I think they are encouraged to NOT say anything like that. They are generally generic andwish ALL the remaining contestants weel.

But, if you have a source for many saying that, I'll be glad to read it. :)

Bucky, Ace, Mandisa have all gone on record saying that they hope he wins.

Bucky called him is best bud on Fox and Friends and Ace said it in the last few weeks.

Ace said he'd stand in front of a moving train for Chris, but, oh yeah, he wants Elliot to win? Yeah right.

Well, you have to figure that since it's USA Today, comparing someone to Bill Clinton is like the *ultimate* compliment. So yea for Taylor!

I had finally come around on his song choices (excited even), and someone had to go and remind me about Rush and "In a Yugo." So between that and the Cartman version, I'll be laughing no matter what.

ROTFL!!! I totally forgot about that, too!!

Let's hope Taylor strips the Cartmen version from our minds, because I know I will be thinking of it, too. :-D

Ace said it on Greta the other night. He also said that he meant no disrespect to the other contestants.

Geez, can you lighten up already. Taylor has this thing in the bag.

Besides, isn't it time for you to go make your offerings before your Taylor shrine?

Whose idea was it for that stupid cheesy movie?

I think the idea was Simon Fuller's, maybe with Nigel Lythgoe's input. Fuller's the originator of Pop Idol in the UK and AI here. I think they were surprised by the success of the first season and saw the movie as a quick, cheap way to capitalize on it. Justin and Kelly didn't have a choice in the matter. Due to provisions of the AI contract, they had to do the movie, although neither of them really wanted to.

It was cheesy from start to finish. The script was thrown together in two or three weeks, and it was filmed in a very short time using lousy production values.

I was just play around. If I really wanted him to go away, I wouldn't have posted that photo. He is a great-looking guy. I hope he gets some acting roles.

You want me to lighten up, when you're the one taking shots at others and their choice of music.

I don't have a Taylor shrine. I also am not 'putting down musical giants' just because I don't care for Elliot's style of music or singing.

You made a BIG statement. What's so wrong with my asking you to back it up with actual links that verify that the people you mentioned stated that they want Elliot to win?
