"His fans may have voted normally the week before and just slacked off this week"

Maybe every single one of them voted, and there just weren't enough of them.

Just passing it on. I don't really give a crap either way to be honest.

Elliot had a good week last week. I really liked Trouble. He probably picked up some extra votes.

It's also possible that some people split their votes on Chris and that can really hurt them, too.

That over the shoulder shot of Kat makes me think she's destined for the silver screen and not the mp3.

Chris had nothing to do with it. I'm sure he's happy that he's been asked already to join several bands. I am just passing on the info I had at the time. I hear now that the phones were working fine...and this was added to snopes.com. People who wanted Chris just didn't vote.

I have a problem with the judges openly saying who they want to win. Somehow I always felt "judges" were supposed to keep quiet about such things. We would not like a courtroom judge to tell the press which side he wants to win. I know this is not as serious as a courtroom. Still these A.I. judges instantly became celebrities and they have influence. By Paula saying she wants Elliot to win, it may cause those who like Paula to vote for HER favorite. Perhaps my problem is with their label. Maybe they should not be called judges but commentators.

Well, I don' like that:)

IMO, Elliot is the best singer of all of them, and has improved each and every week. Kathrine is good, but she has just not been consistent at all. She either hits a home run (and not all that often), or she totally bombs out. Taylor is good, very good, and the best performer. IMO, it should be Elliot as the winner, and Taylor second. AND, IMO:) Katherine has absolutely NO personality. She just giggles. She has never made good interesting conversation. Surly and American Idol should be able to converse.

Hey, I would be happy to sit down and discuss her future with her...

Just thought that the thread would be enhanced by some pictures. Done right she is rather stunning!!

But at this point (once it goes to the public to vote, Randy, Paula, and Simon are NOT the judges. They are just giving opinions.

I agree. They can call them whatever, but they shouldn't be trying to sway the voters like they do. Comment and make constructive criticism and that's it.

Taylor playing guitar.

Taylor playing the harp. After watching him perform live with his band yesterday his dancing and moves make a lot of sense when he is able to play his guitar and harmonica. They are simply an extention of himself.

Gray Charles has the videos to download. Taylor's band is awesome!

Check this out. Grabbed it from the comments at a blog. Was Chris getting the gay vote?

Well, as middle-aged gay man, I have no reason to continue watching American Idol.

Taylor Hicks - He's not sexy at all. He has squishy fat thighs and a double chin. The gray hair would work on the right man -- and it isn't Hicks! I imagine that he'd make those same spazzy movements in bed. Not a pretty thought.

Elliott Yamin - I can get past those horrible teeth! Uck. He needs serious dental reconstruction. Otherwise, he's kind of cute in a scruffy, been-living-in-homeless-shelter kind of way.

Katherine McPhee - Very pretty and talented gal. However, she doesn't have any fag hag potential like Kelly Clarkson. I can't really see her doing any gay disco anthems. Fritz | Homepage | 05.11.06 - 1:30 pm | #

I know his band is awesome. I watched a little yesterday. That one dude was playing the sax AND some other reed intstrument at the same time. Did you see that?

Yes I saw that! I hope that they are able to continue with Taylor, these guys are really good. I love his keyboard player too! Here's the My Space website for the band. They have four songs on it.

Want to laugh? Just grabbed these:

Today the 3 idols all had their hometown events.

There is a controversy inside AI now as to how to edit
them to balance the content side so that one Idol wont
look like a total runaway peoples favorite.

And its Taylors fans fault. Taylor fans shocked the AI
producer and camera crew. They saw women
fainting for him at the Galleria, that had at least
12,000 people packed into it. There were thousands on the
parade route cheering him and thousands more at the park
concert and on and on.

They are debating to cut the footage into Elvis like moments.
They underestimated popular reaction to him and are shocked
by what they saw today.

Quote:Posted: 5/12/2006 10:58:00 PM PST

Some AI staffers after seeing Taylor perform in Alabama
now think he has been "holding back" his performance on the
show. Quote "Taylor's been slipping us the Golden Sandbag"

They were gobsmacked down there by it all.

I don't know, I think they have a right to say who they like. After all they are NOT judging now. Once again, if the voting public are that easily swayed, they deserve what they get.
