You bring up something with your stats on Knaus.
When does NASCAR hand out lifetime bans?
Obviously he is not reformed (even after the 25 championship points).
That would send a surefire signal that NASCAR is serious about cheating, because folks, we are headed towards another breakdown like we saw in 2000 at Talledega and NASCAR might not be able to skate through one like that so easily these days.

I know several people that prefer 'Dega over Daytona, to each his own I suppose. I think you'll enjoy it.

af_vet_rr- you really don't like that guy do you?
Nascar is always been about bending the rules. Ever hear the phrase:
In Auto Racing there are two kinds of drivers, Losers and Cheaters..
I have followed this sport since the mid Seventies. I have seen a lot of things that would freak people out in this new world of PC.

And I almost forgot; the amount of time that Busch stayed out after being shown the black flag was exactly the same amount of time that Kenseth stayed out, so if NA$¢AR were consistent, Busch would have lost 2 laps instead of getting the back-of-the-longest-line penalty.

JJ said, "I want to dedicate this win to all the 48-haters."
It is precisely that kind of statement that makes me a "48-hater."

Ruined it for him I did - mostly since it was my driver pick that won!Congrats!
I paused mine too... on and off all day long... the girls were out sleigh riding, and the boys were beating up the playstation... I was cooking. I stayed off the thread just long enough :o_

I don't like people or teams that treat the rules like an afterthought, and I don't like NASCAR telling everyboody they are getting tought on cheating when they are not (not just playing fast and loose with cars, but on-track shenanigans ala Stewart)
If you have been following it since the 70s, then you know what I'm talking - the 70s were really bad with cheating, the 80s - NASCAR allowed some people to slide, the 90s - up and down every few years, then the 2000 Talladega, teams backed off after that since it was such a big black eye for NASCAR, then the past two years or so, it seems like it started creeping back up. It almost seems like it's a 5 year cycle.

Thanks Tork, I appreciate that. :)
That's me Nascar thread cheerleader.

I have followed this sport since the mid Seventies. I have seen a lot of things that would freak people out in this new world of PC.Same here. Was married into a racing family for many years and learned what makes winners. It's as you said. Losers and Cheaters.
It always is most irritating when the person we don't like is cheating better. Nope, didn't want my kids to grow up thinking that. But, their dad raced. They ended up being upstanding young adults too.

Casey had a good run, snuck in there..
I think this is going to be a break out year for him. There at the very end when he started to follow him around Johnson, he saw what was happening behind him and ended up making the right call - he could have easily been freight-trained out of the top five.
To: SouthTexas
It's always my pleasure, but thanks for the mention!
