The Oval Office sure is going to be busy the next few hours, and Tuesday is going to be one heck of a news day.

I know, it's really tempting, I'm up north of Joliet only 90 mins away. Tickets were easy to get a few years back, but there are only 70,000 or so seats so the past two years they've been going for twice to three times face value.

If you want to go to good place, CHARLOTTE is THE place to go...tickets are easy for really good seats at FACE value.
It's an easy drive too in the RV.

We're going to the OCT race and I've already got the tickets...we'll be setting up the RV at the Fleetwood center, an easy 8 to 10 minute walk to our seats.

Plus we carry in our coolers with a sandwich and sodas etc and also can spend the entire day watching practice & qualifying etc. Go back to the RV for a little while and be back in our seats for the Anthem.

Super place for the race...Charlotte Motor Speedway

Of course, the admission price is considerably higher today. Paid $15 back then. Never see that again.

Good news is, my son-in-law and daughter got free tickets to Talledega races last year because he's in the army. He's retiring this year, so they will be purchased now. But, I was proud for them to get those free from Talledega last year.

I am So proud of my Crew.

• March, 21, 2001: Suspended two races and fined $5,000 for using unapproved shoulder harnesses in a car driver by Stacy Compton.
• Oct. 22, 2001: Fined $750 for using unapproved windshield clips on Compton's car.
• Dec. 10, 2001: Hired by Hendrick Motorsports as crew chief for Jimmie Johnson's No. 48 Chevrolet.
• July 11, 2002: Fined $25,000 for having improperly installed mounting bolts. The team also was docked 25 championship points and 25 owner points.
• July 23, 2002: Fined $5,000 for cursing during a live television interview, NASCAR's first sanction for profanity.
• May 21, 2003: Fined $1,000 for using an unapproved air-directional device during NASCAR's All-Star race.
• May 26, 2003: Signed five-year contract extension with Hendrick Motorsports.
• May 27, 2003: Fined $2,500 for using an unapproved refrigerant.
• March 15, 2005: Suspended two races and fined $35,000 because Johnson's race-winning car failed to meet the minimum height requirement during post-race inspection at Las Vegas. The team also was docked 25 championship points, which knocked Johnson out of the points lead.
• March 16, 2005: Appealed suspension.
• March 23, 2005: National Stock Car Racing Commission overturned the suspension and placed Knaus on 90 days of probation, but upheld the fine and the points penalty.
• Sept. 30, 2005: NASCAR changes a rule regarding shock absorbers after Knaus exploited a loophole that caused Johnson's car to fail post-race inspection at Dover International Speedway.
• Feb. 12, 2006: Johnson's qualifying time for the Daytona 500 was disqualified after the car failed a post-qualifying inspection.
• Feb. 13, 2006: Suspended from the Daytona 500 for raising the rear window on Johnson's car to alter the aerodynamics during the team's qualifying run.

Of course, none of the old timers used to tweak the rules right?

That damn sure doesn't make it right one bit - we are headed right back towards the 2000 Talladega - 43 out of 47 or 48 cars failed the inspections (I believe Earnhardt and Jarrett were two of the worst with Roush's team being one of the worst teams overall with the infamous spoilers).

A lot of people right now are thinking about the fact that Johnson won and his crew chief was suspended for cheating, and a lot of people are thinking about how NASCAR said they weren't going to tolerate certain things during the race and then gave out light punishments when those things happened.

I grab my wife and son and head for Orlando roughly every other year, usually we stay at least two weeks and see Disney.
Because of my work in Alaska and the fact we can't take heat very well cause of all the years living up here going to Florida would be perfect in Feb. I'll make inquiries about a rental home soon for two weeks and then I'll scope out the best place to be inside Daytona, anybody here care to offer advice about the best viewing area? I would like pit access cause I was into a racing team 25 years ago when I was much younger.

Let's see; Tuesday is the day that NASCAR typically announces penalties: And that's just the Cup boys.

Knaus is a scumbag and a half - if there wasn't so much money at stake (especially sponsorship), you'd think they'd get rid of him before he costs them another 25 championship points (or more this time around - NASCAR can't give the same penalty if he's a repeat offender).

If you are Lowes, what do you do? On the one hand, you want the visibility, on the other, if you become associated with a bunch of cheaters....

You are correct, it does not make it right. Right or wrong, the crewcheif is the one penalized, not the owner or the driver, except with points.

Ryan Newman ranting now, Spencer defending JJ for blocking.

They have always tweaked to go faster than the next, which results in more rules, which WE don't like, but that is the nature of the game. God forbid that they should ever change to cookie cutter cars.
