"Sterling, what happened?"
"Done hit him."
"Ok, Sterling, thanks for stopping by."
LOL.
I guess it screwed up DJ's car, but just too funny.
Ummm....Sterling....traffic ahead.....
Let's see if we can keep this thread clean...
Copy that..
Standing by..
Because only the front row and positions 40-42 were set by time (43rd would have been as well, but Texas Terry needed the past champ's provisional).
As for the beer bet, I hope Jr and AB take it. I want somebody respectable in the Miller ride again, even if it's only for 1 race ;-)
If you'd like ON or Off the Nascar at FR racing threads&stuff Ping List, let me know via Private Reply or freepmail.
This is not a High Volume Ping List and is intended primarily to alert folks of the posting of the weekly Nascar qualifying and race threads.
Occasional sports or military or prayers Pings using the list may also be sent as situation dictates.
Profanities, flame wars and belligerence in observing common sense rules and family and community decency standards on the thread may result in serious sanctions so be nice. :-)
Thanks!
Bump me onto that list, Norm.
Thanks a bunch, see you guys at the races!
Since he had his ears fixed we need a new name for him.
They should probably figure out how to complete the 50 hours of community service in Phoenix before throwing down the gauntlet with Budweiser. But it would be a lot of fun to see the #2 in red. :)
You're on the list!
Welcome aboard!
Ah, I see the Rainbow Warrior is flying in a rather nice looking woman in for photo ops.....
Jeff and Ingrid have been a couple for about a year and a half. Check out how adoringly she gazes at him in this pic.
Jeff Gordon celebrates with his Belgian girlfriend, model Ingrid Vandebosch, in Victory Lane.
Grin...I know there are plenty of anti-Gordon guys out there who like to boost their own manhood by fantasizing about Jeff's sexuality, but y'all can only dream about having a stunner like Ingrid look at you that way.
Jeff Gordon drives past recently installed no-contact zones at the corners in his number 24 DuPont Chevrolet enroute to winning the second of two Gatorade Duels.

Whatever. My girlfriend looks at me that way and to me she looks better than some unfamous pit lizard. And I'd be successful too if my team added that extra pop to my car as well. Hope Jimmy's crew chief enjoys his week off.
It's an attempt to cut down on bump drafting in the corners. I guess they watch the video of these zones during the race and make a subjective decision as to who was bump drafting and penalize accordingly. Someone else can tell us if the tri-oval is included as being off limits to bump drafting.
no-contact zone means no bump or slam drafting in the turns or the tri-oval. Nascar has 6 extra officials around the track watching for any infractions which will/may result in a pass through penalty down pitroad or possibly a stop and go or to the garage and parked if they deem someone didn't get the first message.
All arbitrary at this point since they waited until the last moment after the problems in the Budweiser Shootout with a few younger drivers bumping others in the corners which could have resulted in the big accident. Tony Stewart said after the race someone was gonna get killed and that was all it took for Nascar to decide on the no bump zones.
Jr says it's a necessary evil in plate racing.......when asked he said the way it used to be done is for the drivers to go talk to the one's who were deemed driving like idiots [that's my word not his].
Thanks for the full explanation, WCG. The arbitrary application is precisely why I didn't want to make any assumptions about what NASCAR meant by "no contact zones."
So...if a driver involved in an accident gets out of his car and tosses his helmet at the offender while the offender passes through a "no contact zone," will that count?
Just kidding.
Nice lead in on the post.
Thanks garandag. WCG says the tri-oval is included.
lol
They are practicing right now and Nemechek said they are racing harder than in the Duels yesterday at times [three wide].
Sadler just bumped Jr almost into Crash Gordon, he swerved to miss him had to squeeze through the middle between Gordon and Shelmerdine. Yikes
It was in a 'legal zone' but Jr was already too close to Gordon. That's another problem because the cars have the heavy tint on the back window so the guy behind you cannot see through the car to see if anyone is in front of you before initializing the bumpdraft. It's up to the spotters for the most part.
Yikes, indeed. Somebody needs to tell those boys they need to race them mo'sheens on Sunday. Passin' on Friday don't count.
