Dear Rent Control Board:
I can’t rent the high-priced apartments anymore. Overtaxed high-income people want out of the city and are leaving, not renting.
There’s not enough rent money coming in to maintain the building and pay high taxes.
The people in all the apartments need to pay a fair share.

Do not fret too much folks. The political pendulum has swung hard to the Left...for now. After a few years of this Islamic Brotherhood candidate will screw up big time. Even hardcore leftists will be disappointed by this empty suit of a Mayor.
When the pendulum swung hard to the Left last time (Obama+Biden), it eventually swung back to the Right and people came to their senses with the ouster of Jamilla Harris and the election of Trump.

That was my first thought too, that the pendulum will swing back. But then I look at California, Washington State, etc. and it has been a LONG time and we (they) keep electing leftists in hopes of fixing what is wrong.
I see that the current leftist mayor of Seattle is leading at 54%. His opposition is Katie Wilson, 43 years old with 46%. From wiki:
“She dropped out of Oxford six weeks before graduation and moved to Seattle in 2004. She worked several jobs after moving, including working in boat repair, construction, and as an office assistant.”
Her “income” is almost solely from her parents. She is a “community organizer” and involved a lot in mass transit issues.
