“Where to begin? It was won and lost a dozen times before the final. Baseball is such a close close thing.”
Yeah you can’t bail on watching thinking it’s all in the bag…no matter how late it is.

It still needs fixed. Baseball needs a salary cap and salary floor to increase parity. As long as the fans are willing to spend their hard earned dollars on these teams, there will never be such parity as you envision. Nor should there ever be........
Using your logic, your employer should be prohibited from paying the salary you are currently receiving, simply because.......

Disagree with that entirely. MLB is a single entity consisting of multiple franchises. The entity is not best served by some franchises so dramatically out spending the others. That some entities have an advantage in revenue due to their larger tv markets. The best strategy for the long term health of the entire entity that is MLB is to have salary limitations and revenue sharing to bring a better level of parity to the league. The NFL understood this and is destroying MLB in national popularity.

Yes, but nothing you said had anything to do with my comment about big money teams pilfering star players from other teams.
Sure, big money teams may have good farm systems, but lesser MLB teams are also essentially their farm system as well.

The Dodger fans didn’t kill anybody, so I guess we all won.

True. But MLB allows such a huge disparity of revenue by its franchises. A tv deal for the Dodgers will generate TONS more gross revenue to play with. At the moment individual teams are chasing after their own broadcast deals. This is what creates the definition of “small market” vs “large market” teams.
Not only does mlb need a salary cap/floor, it needs revenue sharing. Which is why the large market teams make this discussion DOA and is why the league will eventually kill itself.
A league is comprised of FRANCHISES rather than individual business entities. For the best long term health of the league, the disparity between its franchises should be repaired.
True true. I guess the Brewers would need a LOT bigger pot for their 40 some percent to match dollar for dollar the Dodgers 73%. For some reason I thought baseball had revenue sharing but I guess not. You are correct, this needs to happen and it wouldn't be all that hard because that nut has been cracked by other major sports leagues.
Being from a small market team area like Seattle, we see the Yankee's and Dodger's buy our best talent year after year after year. We jokingly call the Mariners the Yankee's AAAA farm team.
