This was the biggest purge of senior Generals in China since Mao, and all nine were key loyalists of Xi - just days before the 4th Plenum.

Not only were Xi’s loyalists removed from their key positions, but they have been expelled from the Communist Party, and have been accused of “vile” criminal acts, which sounds like they are heading to prison.

Don’t these people know how things works. Dictator do not “lose power” and yet still somehow stay in their positions. They are removed and either killed or imprisoned. Because the people who oust him cannot afford the possibility of him returning to power (and avenge himself) and has to as part of their coup attempt planning phase account for this.
